Iran nuke deal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was a "stunning historic mistake" that would provide Iran with "hundreds of billions of dollars with which it can fuel its terror machine and its expansion and aggression throughout the Middle East and across the globe".

How is it providing them money?

Immediately Iran has frozen assets around $100 billion which will be unfrozen once UN signs off or some inspectors do. I don't know what the rest of the sanctions entail.

The deal... I mean seems good on paper but also seems to have no teeth to it. Sanctions alone were not going to prevent Iran form getting nukes, but the deal essentially lifts all sanctions just for Iran saying yes we are doing that and checking things off a list. The inspectors aren't even allowed access to military sites, only allowed to request it.

The truth is we probably won't know the fallout from this deal for many years. If Iran lives up to their end then it will be pretty good. If they use the influx of cash to improve their infrastructure and quality of living then it will be good for their people. But there isn't much holding them to that. They could take all the cash and funnel it to terrorist groups.

This article is pretty good. The reality is the US can't just bully Iran into whatever deal they want cus China and Russia are on the other side of the fence on this one. They both want Iran as a trade partner.

This one is about the concerns over enforcing the deal and how Iran as a known terrorist supporter is a scary thought.

This is another one with my own excerpt:

According to the agreement, UN inspectors will be able to enter any suspect facility in Iran within a maximum period of 24 days. Iran will be able to present reservations to the IAEA's requests to visit suspicious facilities. In such cases, a special arbitration committee will be established to make a decision. The committee will include representatives of the six world powers, Iran and the European Union. Iran will be in the minority, with only Russia and China holding positions close to Tehran's.

That doesn't sound that strong does it? They can stall inspections for a really long time!

Some more on the same issue:

This is not a verifiable agreement. The IAEA will only have 24/7 access to declared nuclear facilities. The IAEA can “press” for access to military and suspect nuclear sites. Provisions for access military and suspect military sites are extremely weak and provide for no consequences against Iran if it fails to grant access to IAEA inspectors.

Is Israel willing to take the same deal they want Iran to take or is Israel for destabilization?

Don't be silly this is Isreal you are talking about...

Netanyahu is an Arab puppet to prevent the inevitable Israeli-Iranian partition of the Arab world.

Many seem to be drastically underestimating the strength of the inspection regime, as it covers the entire nuclear pipeline. And they are heavily limited as to what kinds of nuclear material they may have and its enrichment. That's a victory.

In my eyes, it's a good deal.

This deal with destabilise and already unstable region. Iran with nukes is not a pleasant thought.

The whole purpose of the agreement is to keep Iran from gaining nukes.

Iran has agreed to give up any attempt to build nukes and to permit inspections. How is this a worse situation than the last week's situation: where they had not agreed to give up attempts to build nukes and were not permitting situations.

BTW: If not to get a deal, what was the purpose of sanctions?

They would have to be crazy not to given how much Israel wants to destroy them.

So let's see Israel take the first step by dismantling all the nukes everybody knows they already have, but they still won't admit to doing so.

I can well understand why Iran thinks/Is threatened and the presence of ISIS adds to that.

Of course their main problem is their neighbor who keeps trying to get the #1 military power to bomb them, and has been doing so for at least the last 15 years.

You kind off have to wonder why they bother with trying peace at this point especially when Israel has a tendency to lie...

Of course maybe Netanyahu wants Iran to et nukes so he can use it as a pretext - I would not put it past him I'm sorry to say.

That is what I find so hypocritical. Netanyahu whines every chance he gets that Iran wants to destroy them, while Israel has been trying to destroy Iran ever since they finally threw out our puppet dictator.

What would Israel do if Iran assassinated even a single person inside their borders, much less at least 5 civilians? Not to mention at least 387 Palestinians and assorted others they have murdered. How are these not classified as acts of terrorism?

The hawks are enraged, they were desperate for another middle east war and now this deal will make their work so much harder.

It seems very one sided against Iran - the other parties to the deal aren't subject to the restrictions and inspections that Iran is.

After Russia its another Obamas reset of relations. I do not understand why Israeli are blamed to be afraid of theocracy who wish them to be erased and financing organisations like Hezbollah. * I am not pro-Israeli, I wish free Palestine.

Perhaps we will symbolically destroy one stealth UAV that didn't crash in Iran.

Afraid of theocracies except their own...while wondering why their neighbors are afraid of theirs.
