Iran to issue badges to Jews and Christians

Opening post. I hope that is what you were referring too.

It is good that this is a false story. Still living in Iran, you do not have religious freedom.

You do to some extent, in that you can practice your religion, not like in communist Russia or China.

about 11,000 - 15,000 Jewish Iranians live in Iran.

Same basic story was printed all over the net this morning. AP, Yahoo, etc... I'd hardly call quoting articles from those sites "alarmist tabloid pandering".

Got any links to prove this? I never saw it on netscape or BBC. Any stories from the sources you say say "they could not confirm" these allegations.

Garric should post a disclaimer in his original post, unless he wants to be an agent of disinformation.

EDIT: I really hate this kind of propaganda. Blatant lies that energize a base for war, and most of the people who hear never hear the truth, just some rumor they read somewhere. I guarantee you, 6 months from now we will still hear people saying Iran wanted jews to wear armbands.

What proves that Iran is not as theocratic as we used to think (me included)

You mean, like this link? EDIT: Sorry, I though you were looking for the disclaimer. I missunderstood.

He has been banned for one week, so he won't be able.

Me too.

I hear it is not as friendly to Ba'Hai as it is Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians, allthough I do not know why. Of course Germany really persecutes christian Scientists, and China has that Falun Gong thing.

because they see Jews, Christians and zoroastrians as members of other religions, which are completely wrong, under their point of view. Ba'hai (sp?) is more dangerous for them because, although they belong to the same basic religion (I think), questions some points of their dogma.

Is like rivalry between two sport teams in one big city, they hate each other more than they hate any other team of a different city.

You forget that Israel having nukes is part of the reason Iran is rushing to get nukes.
Why yes, because we certainly are a mortal danger to anyone and anything we must not be allowed to hold the only thing that balances the fact we're outnumbered 30:1 by people who explicitly stated they want to kill us!.

30:1? How do you figure? Are you making a racist, blanket statement that all muslims want to kill Jews?

Well, Israel has nukes and it hasn't used them yet.

And according to what some iranian politicians have said so far, my impression is that they want to build nukes to use them.

It is just my impression. But If I were israeli, I would be worried.

Well, if they use nukes or pass them off to someone else that uses them, they will be destroyed. And, I don't think they want that.

I, unlike everyone else in the free world, don't lose any sleep over Iran. There's so much anxiety out there about Iran, and it's affecting our markets. It's starting to tick me off that people are shaking in their boots so much about Iran.

Let the Iranian leadership do/say whatever they want. My country has a ginormous plethora of :nuke: , so, I AM going to get my sleep at night, not be nervous about investing in the markets, and in reality there's not a whole lot Iran can do about it, unless they want to feel the fury of nuclear superpowerdom raining down upon them.

It's the Iranian leadership, that should be nervous. Not us. So, everyone just needs to calm down.

So would I, but blatantly flounting international treaties, and then complaining of another country attempting to is nothing short of hypocracy.

Those in powerful positions have the luxury to be hypocritical. Hstory has shown - that's human nature. Expect nothing less.

Not all muslims, heaven forbid. We're only being reduced to the status of sub-human by the insane yet official Shi'ite government of Iran, being blamed for the invasion by the majority of the populace in Iraq, compared to "subhuman pig-dogs" by the Sunni population of Saudi Arabia and there's little denying the Palestinians are out to get us, be it you agree with them and their bus-blowing methods or not.

So yeah, we don't need the nuke to deter from all muslims. We just need the command staff of the Iranian, Saudi, Lebanese, Syrian and Yemenite militaries, along with the openly and explicitly suicidial maniacs of the Hamas, Fatah, Al-Aqsa, PFLP and every other random idiot organization with a hidden agenda and a molotov cocktail stockpile to understand we've got the Samson option under our belt, and that way no one really wins.

I think that an Israel with nukes actually has a calming effect...kind of "don't get us really mad:mad: or you will be a pile of glowing dust":nuke:

...Never Again...

I hope that Harper feels dumb right now....

If it's like Nazi Germany they don't give those groups badges; they kill them. The Nazi's reasoned that if you were living without existence (Leben ohne dasein) then you didn't deserve to live and promptly proceeded to exterminate many people with disabilities.

They did give badges to gays/lesbians: pink triangle, and I belive that disables people and other 'anti-socials' got the black triangle.

No, he'll just blame the opposition for sleazy partisan politics that caused the whole thing in the first place and that he won't be able to make accurate statements until he gets a majority.

it is good that someone has the right mind to label these abrahms.
once this has been done, i just wish this great greta man that came up with this decision should send them to concentration camps

countalorkrin, are you by any chance the younger brother of CurtSibling? You sound vaguely like him, only without the capitals and other sophistications.

A friendly tip: Your rights to freedom of speech do not apply here. Advocating concentration camps/violence/murder/other offensive activities can get you banned.

The only people who should be made to live in concentration camps are those who endorse them.
