If anyone's curious, this was a translation of salient points of rules posted by ISIS in Nineveh published on Twitter by a reporter for Arabic Al Aan TV. She also posted the original document if anyone can read Arabic and wants to read it for themselves(I sure as hell can't). I copy/pasted her tweets.

She also has some photos of some of ISIS' brutal killings of Iraqi soldiers, but they are quite graphic, I am not linking to them and you look at them at your own risk.

Why should anyone follow the rules if they aren't even spelled properly?

And the Safavids? What's ISIS's beef with them? Are they aware that the Safavids fell centuries ago?

They were a Persian Shiite dynasty after all, maybe they refer the Shiite rule as such?
And it is badly translate.

ISIS rules: Gatherings, carrying flags (other than that of Islamic state) &carrying guns not allowed. God ordered us to stay united. (8/11)

Bad spelling of the "rules" notwithstanding, I've in favour of this particular rule. I hope ISIS follows it.

A place filled with angry people that have fought for the last 1400 years over religion? Also, there's a desert. The desert changes people, you see.

The desert should give people a better sense of perspective.

Why are they so angry all the time? I don't get it at all.

How do they think that massacring a lot of people is going to make the world a better place?

If by "they", you mean "humans as a whole", you're right.

If by "they", you mean a specific nation..no, you're wrong.

What end do they have in mind? And how does it follow from what they're doing?

As far as I gather it, as referred from their name, is the creation a Sunni Caliphate in the Middle east, stretching from Iran to Israel (and even into Egypt and Europe if they are going for the greater extent of the term "Levant"), they answer nobody (They attacked Nussra, they are not part of Al-Qayida anymore) and by the look of it (and their frighting reputation that made all the people with brain in their heads and capable to move to flee) they will stop at nothing.

Far as I believe, the "End" will come when a Shiite state covering Iraq and Levant appears, and presumably, the Jews and the Sunni are expelled from their sacred homeland or something.

Now, if that's realistic and if that could truly happen or if that is even their goal, that's a fine question that only they can answer.

I'm fairly sure you may have Shia and Sunni the wrong way round, Mr Tolni.

And this Caliphate is going to be founded on skulls, is it?

They are fanatics, they are very clear with their intention.
And they are Sunni, that's why Iran is fighting them, it sees it as a threat in the region (something they didn't had since the fall of the Taliban and the fall of Saddam in the Last Decade).
They are killing enough to ensure loyalty, and using religious terminology (even with this problematic translation you can see they are using it), Machiavelli methods are still efficient as they used to be in the 15th century, though this one is really went to the extreme.

Drones and Air Force to support the Iraqi Army and Iranian forces on the ground there. I might also send some of our special operations to "assist" as well.

I think you'll have a conflict of interest, because obviously, ISIS is funded by the CIA! :tinfoil:

We should just bomb Iraq until something unexpected happens.
