Ahh, you want to know how I got all the military upgrades before hand?

Easy, all I did was classified. And it was me, not BSmith. He had no part in it. I was getting upgrades for free long before this.

Yeah. I got all of two upgrades the whole game.... All I can assume is that it was based on my actions in game at the time of the upgrades (I got machine guns when I put down my Zulu rebellion, and conscription at the end of the game when in the big war.)

I got one, and I thought it was because I had a huge navy (one of, if not the, biggest) and a lot of science points.

Upgrades were entirely based on military points, science had nothing to do with it.

I was in the Canadian League so I'll just say it: kiwitt told the three Canadian Sponsors that they could send Canada money to get tech stuff. France sent way more than Peru and I did, becuase Peru didn't have very much and I was spending it on other stuff. Plus, I just decided that France was giving so much to Canada, it was cheaper for me to just buy the tech like everyone else when it came out.

Having more MP should mean you develop better tactics, not better weapons!

Because I specifically ordered them to be created in France...

As to science, not really, I didn't start actually exploiting using the system until the German war, which was after he already revealed a few upgrades. I was planning on declaring war on Germany the turn ZD quit, but Germany becoming an NPC with "DoW immunity" threw a kink in that plan, so I threw a bunch of IC into science while I waited.
