Is being accepted in society really all that?
I think he meant that Asperger's Syndrome reduce your ability to intact the rest of the human race.

The most important thing is how you feel about yourself.
A good portion of how feel about yourself comes from your ability to successfully interact with the rest of society.

Right, but you were told that you had severe asperger's?
Or how did you deduce it?
A teahcer at the junior school I went to first noticed it, and I had to go to the hospital several times for many years until they said they couldn't do anything more to help.

Now I'm on disability benefit because after going to the Job Centre (my dad took me there) they said I was unfit for work.

The hospital? I thought you went to the psychiatrist for cognitive therapy etc.

Taillesskangaru fully believes that all Aspergers are the same.

Being locked up in some patalogical center is to be not fully accepted in society.

Um...sorry I don't remember mentioning that.

What i meant was, so many people in the world are bigots, that anyone, not just aspergers, who are different from mainstream society, are bound to suffer from some kind of discrimination.

Asperger: You see everything more clearly. You're valuable in society.

True, but most people tend to overlook or ignore their potential.

I can understand that but many great geniuses thruout the ages had social problems.

Better to have a few good friends than me liked by many but close with few.

What;s cognitive therapy?

Well I'm no psychiatrist but it's a therapy to make patients aware of their irrational thought processes. It's often used against OCD (obssesive compulsive disorder) and people with asperger's often have OCD to some degree.

Diagnosed by practising psychologist, confirmed by the doctor who wrote to the local military to tell them that I couldn't serve because I had Asperger. (His words, not mine.)

Curse duh!
You can't cure it and people want it gone,
Yeah Aspergeers is a real gift it just makes the guy that sits next to you not talk to you! :(

I don't want it gone, and the reason that you can't cure it is that it isn't a disease.
Most of the time it's me not talking to the next guy anyway.

Omg Swedish Guy I neevr knew you were an Apserger lol, you sound nothing like that Hottie SwedishGuy ;)
Yeah well Aspergers >_<
YOu never looked at yuor birthday thread in a while eh?

I am led to believe that autism is part of SP (schizoid personality) or to put it differently: i can be autistic in some ways, but it is an option for me. Even when i was certain that it was non-autistic (ie it was somewhat objective), i still had autistic ways for viewing things which were linked to only PART of how i thought. I trust that an AS on the contrary does not have optional autism.
Pattern creation is an important part of thought. I can view patterns with ease, and examine sub-patterns and sub-patterns of those, and can examine them in various levels, which is why i use so many symbolisms in my work. However SP is not solely autistic. It ussually is a personality where there is a dependance with autistic ways of thinking only due to need, which can develop to a great degree. However there is clear understanding of a non-autistic way of thinking as well. So i cannot exactly understand an AS, although i think that we would be able to communicate ;)
