In addition to Civilization, I also play D&D games like neverwinter Nights. It seems that to boost sales for an upcoming sequel, Neverwinter Nights 2, Atari ordered a developer [bioware] to no longer patch NWN [1] and to not release anymore premium module. the modivation being that a key feature in at least one would overshadow the sequel. reports being also that Atari is about to go bancrupt. anybody else know how atari is really doing?

Given their lack of funding of patches for their current games, I hope Atari either goes bankrupt and sells off assets to companies who DO spend money on patching or change their ways to better serve the customer.

But yea, I heard Atari was in financial straits.

That's what Atari gets for selling the Civ Franchise to Take2 or whatever it is!

:p

and now they want to screw over the RPG people.

They (and Quicksilver) already screwed over the Master of Orion series
