Is Being Gay a Choice, Not a Choice, or both.

A penis is like a compass needle...

The North and South are just painted over reading Girls and Guys

It just depends which one you write over North.

imho it is predisposition for some and acquired taste (rather than choice, though that of course is possible) for others.

but in then end, does it matter? or was that debate concerned with legal issues such as same sex marriages?

Anyway you want to look at it I think its fairly evident that there are far more than 260 million people who are gay on Earth. I mean gay isnt something new.

Really? Find me 260 million admitted gays. And from the available scientific data , it should be HIGHER, because of the 33% rule.

Germany alone is often reported to have 1,5 million who are attracted to their own sex and we are tiny (uhm, 68 million? I forget. 85 after tha fall of the wall? why can't I remember these facts). as far as out-of-the-closet goes, I wouldn't know.

That's only 2% of the population.

Gay love = not choice
Gay sex = choice

Neither is exclusive to the other.

Where are you getting that from? 260 million people is probably realistic, unless the formula differs for women.

I think its awfully naive to draw such a narrow line against homosexuals when sexual orientation can truly be fluidic. If our culture was not supportive of homosexuality in the past then it is certainly becoming more so today. Don't you expect these numbers to be proved wrong or become revised?

Maybe in your experience, but others have reported otherwise.

Just report? What, so now their urges are uncontrollable, making it better, as opposed to just weak willpower? :p

It's nto really a choice. Doesn't mean they are born with it, but people cannot usually help their fetishes.

I never drew a line, I took established facts and created a hypothesis based on those facts. Hypotheses can be wrong from time to time, and mine is no different. Homosexuality was pretty much socially incorrect everywhere a few hundred years ago, but it's been getting better since around 1960 (I think).

Both,

They are born eather Homosexual, Heterosexual, or Bi
But they can chose to act upon their impulses.

Impulse? It is a basic human need to want to be loved. Being gay makes it even more urgent, since feeling alone and hopeless is much more likely, seeing how the pool of lifetime mates is much smaller.

Wouldn't it be proportionate? Also why would a gay person be looking for a lifetime mate? And in that case, why would a straight person be looking for a lifetime mate? Do you believe that unmarried people are unhappy? Also, why would a gay person or a straight person want to be married?

im not gay
but ill choose to be gay for you ;)
bet that made you feel special didnt it
