And the question isn't so much whether or not there are people still playing Civ4- the question is more "Is there anyone left who hasn't given up on Civ5?" Or maybe "Is there anyone in the world who doesn't play Civ4? If so, why the heck not?"

All the real civ players still play 4. All them over in the CivV forum are newcomers who play for the simplicity.

Yes. The turn times are bearable in Civ4 and mods make it a much more polished game. Neither of these are true for Civ5. (That isn't to say the mods for civ5 are no good, but they don't have as much freedom as in civ4, for example to modify the AI.)

MP is still going strong, so np on that end.

Mods, lol, where to start. There is a whole forum dedicated to mods. It's a matter of preferance on what you classify as "good". Off the top of my head that I consider awesome; Realism Invictus, ROM AND, HRW, VIP, and more. you'll have to check them out and determine for yourself. There's a lot of great talent on these boards, for which i'm grateful for.

BUG, BULL, BUFFY are good for improved UI/Info.
KMOD for improved gameplay/AI, etc.

Ironically, I just started playing Conquests again because of The Hollywood Mod. Funniest mod I've played in a very long time.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Civ V alpha was made public well over a year ago, and the public beta came out recently.
