Earlier this week he used a racial slur in front of Native American war heroes. He's attacked global press freedom, after cozying up to autocrats on his recent Asia tour.

The ONLY coverage on CNN today (which has ALL day) that relates to the looting of the treasury for the benefit of the rich that is making its way through the Republican controlled congress was the de rigeur coverage of Trump himself telling whopper after whopper about the 'tax cut and reform' that his rich friends allegedly hate him for. When his speech was over no one had the breath to say "wow, that was a gigantic pack of lies" because in the endless stream of outrageous nonsense he spews that is just a blip on the radar. What do you think is going to show up on the evening news on network affiliates that have maybe five minutes to brief their viewers on what their government is up to?

The congress is about to hand the treasury over to the rich, again, and no one is paying attention because the buffoon in chief is providing a never ending distraction.

A poor, ineffective or stupid government foreign policy is the collective action of many people. Trumps tweets are the actions of a President whose sole purpose is to generate hatred. There is no equivalency.

Less calling Pocahontas "a Cherokee", more calling a Cherokee "Pocahontas". Lumping all Native Americans into one big blob called "Injuns" is pretty reductive and therefore likely to rub people the wrong way.

Calling them native americans lumps them into one blob... So its offensive to the Cherokee to be called Pocahontas? Apparently many Cherokee claim to be her descendants, I'd think they're proud of that. But Warren may not be a Cherokee, she may be nothing. She might have lied, thats Trump's angle.

The structure of Trump's insult was that Warren was a faux-Indian, and the use of "Pocahontas" was a way of taunting her with the image of what she believed she was, and perhaps hoped to think of herself as, but is not. "Pocahontas", therefore, is being used as a synonym for "female Indian"; a family-friendly equivalent to "squaw".

Now, there may be an angle in which "Pocahontas" is used to indicate not female Indians, but the a romantic Western stereotype of female Indians, with the implication that this is the sort of flattened stereotype that Warren, like many Americans with a "Cherokee princess" somewhere down the family tree, may be plausibly accused of buying into. But Trump, like his supporters, is a barely-literate philistine, he is simply not operating on that level of cultural nuance.

The insult is she lied, it aint that Warren is or wants to be a squaw. If Warren was male and claiming to be an Indian I'm sure Trump would choose a famous male Indian. This is the first time in my life I've seen so many (any!) attempts to denigrate Pocahontas and its all coming from 'the left'. Her name has become a racist slur, the epitome of preferential treatment and now a synonym for squaw.

It is hilarious. One of two was not offended, and therefore it is not a racist slur.
So all we need do is find one (1) African-American who her heritage.is not offended by the N-word and we can go back to using it?

They have at best proven that (1) no one yet has been able to document her heritage and (2) she has blond hair and blue eyes.
I was born with blond hair and blue eyes, yet I am 1/128 Cherokee. So the assumption that anyone with blond hair canoot possibly be part-Cherokee is laughable.

The context does matter but you ignore it, calling her a liar has always been the context. Warren knows that but she drags racism into it instead, makes the accusation of lying easier to accept for me. If I was in her shoes I wouldn't do that, I'd feel guilty for building a straw man.
