Liberation dialog popping up unneccessarily

Steps to reproduce: Conquer cities.
Expected behaviour: Liberation dialog only pops up for cities adjacent to the cultural borders of their previous motherland and only if there are traces of the former owner's culture left.
Actual behaviour: The liberation dialog pops up even for cities which have long since become part of my empire's heartland and which have no apparent connection to their motherland left. This can get a bit tedious in a large empire.

Colonies need a culture boost

Steps to reproduce: Settle on another continent, do not grant those cities independance.
Expected behaviour: Colonies start with a boost to their culture, allowing them to thrive.
Actual behaviour: Colonies culture flip one by one over to me.

Colonies won't accept some cities as gifts, but can be forced to

Observed behaviour: Colonies which won't accept cities flagged as "Liberate" in the trade dialog can be forced to accept them by using the domestic advisor's liberate icon.

Unit selection sometimes gets stuck

Observed behaviour: Sometimes when trying to add or remove units from a stack, the selection gets stuck and no units can be added or removed from that stack unless a unit on another tile is selected first.

Workers/missionaries/execs no longer automated after airlift

Observed behaviour: Automated workers/missionaries/execs flip back to manual movement mode after they get airlifted by the AI.

I don't understand this situation. Could you please explain and/or post a save?

Again, a save would be nice

Observation part is misleading a bit. If you conquered the city from someone else, liberating gives it to its previous owner, not your colony. So if you conquered, there is no way of gifting them.

So "can be forced to" is not quite correct.

A save about this situation is available here:

Hi!

Colonies need a culture boost

I'll try to explain in more detail:

I start settling on another continent, so does the AI.
The AI decides to make colonies out of its oversea possessions at some point, I choose not to grant independence to my cities on that continent.

What happens then is that cities of the AI's colonies regularly culture flip over to me.
What I'd expect though is that colonies start with a 'culture boost' so they can resist my cultural pull.

Colonies won't accept some cities as gifts, but can be forced to

Let's say I grant independence to Germany, 3 turns after granting independence to Germany I open a trade dialog with Bismarck.
Going through the list of cities in the trade dialog I notice my city 'Lisboa' is marked as (Liberate), but Bismarck won't accept the city, not even as a gift.
But when I click the domestic advisor's Liberate icon, 'Lisboa' is listed as 'Lisboa - Gift to Bismarck'.
