Good luck! But...
You won't be part of the War on Terror, you'll be dispatched to the island of Hans in the Artic ocean. There, a battle-to-death between you and some random canadian soldier will put an end to the dispute over this little frozen island. Bring your tuque!
Lebensraum! Im tellin ya, those pesky Canucks are claiming all the best land between Greenland and Canada...

Yes, he was, he's Norwegian. I was drafted to, I'm Norwegian. storealex is Danish and they do the same thing. But he seems to have signed up, making a career out of it.
Yup, I drew a lucky number in the draft, which meant I got to choose.

Btw, thanks for all the "good lucks" :)

Remember a hiss means its within 15 feet, and zing and you had better get away from the wall. And if you feel something white hot in your flesh, call the medic (duh!). Enjoy the chemical weapon training, you know, when they sit you in a room and throw tear gas in it and then you have to put your gas mask on as fast as you can. They then make you take the gas masks off and sit in the tear gas filled room for awhile so you can feel what it's like.

Oh BTW, good luck!!!

But draft? What country?

A bit of wisdom from an old Sergeant.

Dont Volunteer.

Keep your opinion to yourself.

Keep your head down.

Friendly fire....isnt.

Make friends with two people...the Mess sergeant and the Supply Sergeant. You will never be hungry or need equipment.

Good luck to you!!

P.S. Did I mention dont volunteer??:goodjob:

Good luck!

/me pulls the grenade and throws the pin. er durh....BOOM!!!

Anyway Good Luck to you, and if you are ever in a war zone, I would hope you come back safe.

Wow... I think that's one of the first non-american people I've encountered on a messageboard who are in the army (I could be mistaken though)... Good luck Storealex! I'm planning of doing some time in the military too, after I get my college degree (or my Ph D.). Though I doubt I'll go to the middle east (Sweden does have some units in Africa IIRC).

Hope you survive Afghanistan (i really wanna go there... though not to fight, but to the yelaks!)... Don't do anything you'll regret.

Jag känner dig, a bit anyways, so please (i mean this in all seriousness) sälj inte dig själv. Not for any reason.

There's a lot of non-american military people here, and some veterans as well. They don't often talk about it, but it does come up.

This is the best advice. Take notice of it. The basic isn't as hard as you think as long as you apply the above.
I joined the Navy 12 years ago and am still going strong.
Good luck!:goodjob:

Good luck!

Just remember to take a step back whenever they call for volunteers, and suck up to the quartermaster. :p

I'm just being silly, I'm never going into the army myself. I'm insane and therefore exempt. (Well, OK, so I have Asperger Syndrome.)

Good luck, storealex!
I wish you a peaceful time and that you´ll never be in situation where you actually have to kill someone.
