Last month when this commercial came on me and my aunt were discussing something about a book she read and how the media depicts women.

Then this commercial came on
Link to video.

I said "Well there is a decent example of 3 health women in the media"

She disagreed.

Please watch and vote.

Health is hard to judge even when you see a person half naked :) What if they are smokers or drug users?

They aren't obese or look like they have eating disorders, so if that is how you are measuring health, than yeah they look "healthy."

Let's not beat around the bush here.

We are talking about how much fat they carry.

For what it is worth I am a fat guy ;)

I'm a fat guy too, but these guys look like your average person who isn't fat, but also doesn't look like they work out or go out of their way to be more healthy.

Anyway, what was your Aunt's objection to the people in the commercial?

She just seems to think that all most on one in the media is a "normal women"

Which might be somewhat true, Seeing as how the plurality of women in this country are overweight or obese.

But! That does not mean as a whole in society we should think of being unhealthy as the norm or *personally acceptable.

*Buy that I mean of course people should not treat others bad based on their weight, but everyone should at the very least attempt to be healthy.

They look pretty normal to me.

They were fat, I prefer thin and healthy women:

They look normal. The pressure shouldn't be on women to be skinny, the pressure should be on men to be skinny. It's normal for women to have higher body fat percentage. We get pregnant etc... Men have no excuses.

Well what exactly did your aunt want 3 women that are so fat they have to wash themselves with a rag on a stick?

For what it's worth no one cares what old fat people think about how the media depicts the human body. We're all well aware what the average person looks like since we've all been to walmart and seen the morbidly obese lady driving around in her cart.

when i saw this thread i thought bast made it mos def

I think there shouldn't be pressure on men or women to be skinny. We should pressure children to be healthy, but once they're adults it's their right to screw up their body in any way that they please.

The women in this commercial look pretty normal to me. Guys too.

Maybe it is just simply a marketing scheme to appeal to certain type of people who are tired of seeing women in commercials who are only by the standard of being only models, and rather see average women.

I see nothing of health being a question about this commercial. It is all nothing but a fast food provider. Crap food.

It also have some images of Game Stop. Crap Stop. Man do they offer rediculous low price for your used games!

They're certainly more 'normal' looking than what is normally shown in the media, yet two of the three women in that commercial are still look like they're pushing up their chests and sucking in their stomachs...

they looked damn good to me.... I find most of the time the only people pressuring women to get skinny is women. 90% of blokes like a girl to have a bit of jiggle on her

Men should be - er - manly; not skinny.
