JalNES II: Quicker and Easier

He has mine.. I assume Azale might be a bit busy...

I sent two days ago. :D

Drat, new page, didn't realise sorry.

~Azale, well you know what you can be getting on with :p

How long until the update?

Tonight, probably.

It has become increasingly clear that the update won't be finished tonight, for which I apologize. I'll be away from my updating computer Thursday-Sunday, so the update will hopefully appear sometime on Monday or Tuesday.

Again, I apologize for the delay.

Bah, best go to bed then.. since its 3.19am :grr:

OOC: Do you have college orientation or something similar? :D TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT :)

OOC: So how's the update coming? Or are you too busy trying to destroy the world? ;)

To forestall inquiry: work on the update is proceeding sporadically, as the little free time I have at the moment is largely being consumed by the Olympics. Sorry.

Oh come on, apart from the Beach Volleyball.. what is there to interest you?

EDIT: Actually, what I said before was rather stupid. I was going to put a story here (without bonus) anyway, so doing that.

Labarnas of Ugarit and the Great Plot
On the death of Katzuli, problems on the throne. Tabal had gone mad, and most of the court nobles (old but still alive) hated him anyway for his arrogance during the time he was sane. Contary to later myth, Mutawalli was a backer of the nobles in this conflict.

Tabal would end up escaping the court after a coup'de'tat, and Hattusili ascended the throne. Not wanting his own heirs to be weak, Hattusili would soon use a banquet celebrating his victory as a pretext to get the major nobility together and murder them.

Hattusili's government would have been stable, but Tabal had escaped to Cyprus, aided by his courtiers. Worse, he gave birth to a son- Labarnas. They were exiled for political reasons, but still had some sway over Ugarit politics.

Labarnas began creating a plan to retake the city- historically unique for how large it got away with being before finally being exposed. It managed to achieve this (though it was ultimately futile) through a complicated system of indirect messages through peasants in the countryside with writing, later switching to codes distributed around.

At it's height, the conspiracy had 200 people. Labarnas's own procrastination delayed action, however, as he wanted to ensure the loyalty of the city guards. This ultimately led to his downfall (though the coup would have by no means been a certain affair), as one of the conspirators finally leaked.

Hattusili was, though he wasn't going to die any time soon, on his death bed and believed to be dying. But others would ensure that Labarnas was outmanuvred- about double the number of actual conspirators were arrested as a side-effect, but Labarnas's plans failed.

Ultimately, his line fled into the countryside. For now, they would not play a part in the affairs of Ugarit...

What I said on Shi was stupid. Disregard last story (bonus is ok...)

I've got something else up my sleeve.

Update? (10char)

Any sign of an update Jal or is this on hold/dead?

You might as well consider it on hold, for the moment. But not dead.
