Jedi Knight Collection

Not bad for a first crack at Yoda. My suggestion is to spend a bit more time on the detail of his face, but other than that it's great.

Actually the only real detail in the entire texture is on the face (it's also a lot more detailed than vanilla unit faces). The thing is that with civ's scale it's not noticeable from a distance, and not many people decide to turn on the flying cam in middle of a civ game to zoom right in to look at a guys face lol : here it is

Nice start. His neck seems too long and he might be too tall. But he's cool.

he's great but i think it would look more realistic with a white streak down the middle of the sword :goodjob:

Great work Chugginator

Here's an updated version of Yoda, I cleaned him up a bit and shortened his legs.

I'm kind of a newb at all this, so if someone could help me, I would really appreciate it.

I have installed the Yoda units and the Jedi Units to my liking, however, the graphics only appear when the character is selected. When they are not selected, they go back to looking like swordsman, which is very confusing.

I'm also curious as to what the other files are for, such as the inquistor_128.dds file and the like.

I would also like to change how the Jedi are made available. I want it make it where you are required to have a Padawan before you can have a Jedi Knight, and have a jedi knight before you have a jedi master, and so forth and so forth, such as Jedi Prerequisites, if you know what I mean, that way they don't all appear at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated in either of these fields.

To fix the first problem you need to turn the "Frozen Animations" option OFF. The dds file is the texture (it's called inquisitor because I based it off another unit of mine, which is in turn based of the christian missionary, but anyway..)

I think what you mean by the last bit is that you want a unit (like the padawan) and then have another unit later on in the game with another technology which the padawan upgrades to. It's fairly easy to work that bit out in the XML, just look for the upgrade tags and create all the relevant units.

thanks for the fix on the animations.

actually, that's close to what I have and what I want to do, but not quite. You see, if you upgrade, then Padawans are no longer available, and that is not what I want. I want it be similar to a Jedi structure, where they have to start out as padawans, but the only way you can build a jedi knight is if you have already created a padawan, and the only way you can build a jedi master is if you have built a Jedi Knight. maybe that's a better description. I understand the upgrade part, but that's not what I'm looking for.

example. I want to build a Jedi Knight, but I can't. I need to have a Padawan first, and I want to set it up to where you can only have one Jedi Knight per Padawan, and one Jedi Master per Jedi Knight, or say, for each level 5 padawan, I can have a Jedi Knight, and for each level 5 Jedi Knight, I can have a master. Is that a better description?

oh, okay. thanks. appreciate the help though. I might stick with the upgrade type until then. Thanks again

can someone please help me i downloaded the units and now i dont know where to put them so i can use them in a game
