Jena 6

When I get to the bottom
I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and turn
and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Do you don't you want me to love you
I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above you
Tell me tell me come on tell me the answer
and you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer

Go helter skelter
helter skelter
helter skelter
Yeah, hu, hu
I will you won't you want me to make you
I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you
Tell me tell me tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer

Look out
Helter skelter
helter skelter
helter skelter
Yeah, hu, hu
Look out cause here she comes

When I get to the bottom
I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and turn
and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Well will you won't you want me to make you
I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you
Tell me tell me tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer

Look out

helter skelter
Yeah, hu,

Assault and battery is the harshest charge they should receive. Charging them with attempted murder is absurd. They committed a crime, but so did the people who hung up those ropes...inciting violence (and with great effect). My solution:

Give everyone involved a six month sentence and then some probation (except the minors who should be given probation). Add to the sentence of the one guy with a criminal record whatever additional time is normal for repeat offenders, as well. If any of these people are actually tried for attempted murder, there is a huge problem with the local judicial system. If any are found guilty, the federal government needs to do something about it.

I admit attempted murder is eccessive, but A&B is not the limit, and 6 months is very inadiquate. This is a race crime and should be treated as one.

Well I haven't kept up with the thread, so I don't know. But on local news stations I've heard people say that only the black students should be prosecuted. Yeah, I couldn't believe it.

Both were potentially hate crimes. It is difficult to tell with the black guys though. I know plenty of white guys that would jump other white guys if they did something so incredibly offensive. The retaliation wasn't necessarily a hate act.

What connection between the cases has been established if any? The retaliation, if it was retaliation, is not at all related, either in causality, since the victin of the beating was not involved, or in severity. Had there been no beating, the suspensions of the students responsible for the nooses would ahve raised no comment. I cannot see that violence changes that, if there is any relationship at all.

Was this on Oprah yet? That would be something...

The second one is better because at one point the guy says something about if i am guilty of a crime then convict me and if not let me go when it is pretty obvious that the six individuals were guilty of a crime...
