JFD and Janboruta's Civilisations

I did speak with Leugi with making some small adjustments to the MoV model for the Ambassador, but I don't expect - and hope - that he didn't get any work done on it yet.

Yup don't worry, haven't had the chance yet :goodjob:

This thread should be named "JFD's (and janboruta's) spoilers"

A clever way of reinterpreting Germany's UA. It's like that one game where the barbariansalien nests become friendly after many turns of not attacking them.

Really like the first glance of Arminius' Germany. You are churning out the new civs faster than I can play them!
Might have to play smaller maps to fly through the games quicker....

That's what I've been doing lately. I've been playing Tiny (4 civ) maps on Quick speed just to take all the 150 or so modded civs I've downloaded for "test drives." When I'm done, I'll return to my normal settings for some in-depth games.

Is it unfair if the civ from More Civs is unreleased? :p

 What civ would he lead?

Thrace or Roman Republic (Kingdom?) (The Republic (Kingdom?) of Free Romans?)

But if we don't talk about the Vandals here, then who else will get Barbary Corsairs?

Nah, the Vandals will get that. It's just too perfect in my mind. But woe to Genseric, who Jan finds so dull and uninspiring

And I'm a little interested about what is the the old HRE civ mod long long ago look like? what's its leader/UU/UA/UB?

It's mostly the same, except there is no Doppelsoldner (Landsneckht was re-purposed) and the UA had you generate Golden Age points from City-States instead of Gold and Faith.

Vandals? I thought any mentioning of them would result in a death sentence?! (make them awesome plz)

Seems really unorthodox and fun in a first glance, reminds me a lot of LS Gauls which I guess you
"borrowed" some of. :p

Just the peace with Barbarians, but that's fairly general purpose to begin with. However, the Germans will take into account the negative consequences of being at peace with barbs (the XP farming, and the honour bonuses) by making the Germans a quantity over quality militaristic-gold civ.

It's really a shame that what I wanted to do - extra gold from TRs for every puppet in the Capital - and then the back-up of what I wanted to do - extra gold from Merchant specialists in the Capital - weren't possible, so I'm a bit disappointed with what came of the Venetian UA. Still, I may come up with something else between now and the bugfixing update.

So you can no longer buy city states with the Merchant of Venice?

Yeah but you won't need to because the Galleass is crazy buffed, it is basically an aquatic siege cannon that also turns everything next to it into siege cannons. So the idea is to take coastal cities by force and reap in the cash, with which you can also buy Admirals to further bolster naval power, since unlike Generals having multitudes of Admirals is pretty useful.

I am not sure about how buying MoVs would be but we will see. They're a lot more interesting like this in my opinion, I found old Venice kind of dull.

Exactly as Gyra Solune says, I found the vanilla Venice to be a bit passive, and definitely not reflective of the historical Venice, which conquered Constantinople some 200 years before the Turks. So the MoV is now used as a source of happiness to compliment those conquests, made so competitive with an effective siege ship.

Ok, but I still need someone to help me re-texture the body model, as I said before. Done.

Why the color change to Austria?

Preference. It can be disabled if you don't share that preference.

Nothing I can do for that, unfortunately.

Hmmm... i haven't got the patch, and without it, Venice are OP.
All units start with 50% bonus against cities.

Is it bad that one of my favorite things about a new civ is seeing the map update?
