Somebody coughed in the second movement. Ruined it for me
Orchestral performance of 4'33" = classical audience Rickroll waiting to happen.
That's nothing. There's a church in Germany currently running through a performance of As Slow as Possible. They reckon they'll be done by 2640.
Oddly enough, Cage actually did compose actual music. He got quite annoyed about becoming more known for the silly conceptual gimmicks. Oh well.
I listen to 4'33" looped constantly, though my recording is better.
Serves him right for doing it. Hey, wait, I'll record my living room tonight for 7"11' and sell it to the 7-11 corporation for their new commercial melody. Yeah...
Technically, 4'33" isn't the silence but rather the environmental noise.
That is lame beyond words. This is the modern art of music. It's like looking at a blank canvas and calling it art.
Hey, don't take it too seriously. Cage didn't. Like I said,
It's not like he was the musical Tracey Emin or something.
