"Jumping to Prince" SG

This game is on lockdown. Nice job guys.

I might ride for a conquest if I can. My CPU is fixed but I am in the process of moving to a new place with future wifey. Prob be about a week before I get everything up and running again.

Nono, just finish the U.N and win the game=P bummer we didnt keep that GE for it.
It'll all depend on the timing of Mass Media. I'd grab the Kremlin just for the heck of it if i can w/o losing time on the UN (plus the Kremlin will make it cheaper to rush-buy the UN). I'm skiving off work today, so I'll play later on this morning (w/in a few hours EDT)

Okay, my turns can best be expressed as a montage of photos:
Kremlin is taken out of our hands:

Just for kicks, I took and razed Tlaxcala:
civ4screenshot00019be.jpg

toku wants us to cancel deals w/Liz, nah. He goes to Cautious.
civ4screenshot00042rt.jpg

Apparently, he's angry with us.

These last two are a state of world for now:
civ4screenshot00063vf.jpg

The war is coming soon, i think, but, we just have to be careful someone like Liz doesn't go after Toku and pass him in pop. Appropriately, here's Rheims buiding the UN.

Once MM came in, i chose Bio but also dropped research to 0. We're making about 500 gpt for now, so w/in the next turnset or two, we should buy it up.

We can shift all of our cities to produce Wealth and hurry up the procces!

I'll go along with that. But maybe we should have contingency plans in the event:

1. Either Fred, Liz or Pete chose to abstain (can they do that if they're still friendly?) and we end up short in the vote. In this case, we could get Biology fast and grow our population as fast as possible, maybe vote ourselves in?

2. Toko declares war on us. We should be okay with our eastern and western fleets. But I'd feel a little better if we could get those 3 riflemen way down south back home to garrison some cities. We'll have lots of cash on hand until we buy the U.N. that can be used to upgrade some warriors and macemen. If I recall correctly, Grenoble is ripe for the pickings of a short stack of doom Toko has inside our borders.

Toku will never attack us while we got defensive pacts with our 3 musketeers.
As long as he is the top pop guy everything is good.

I have several cities producing rifleman on the home island for defense as Orelans still had just a warrior i think :)

Got the save and will play tonight.

I don't think I've ever played a game building so few military units!

So join us for the next SG with Nappy and some Musketeers conquest!

Prior to turn, move some specialists around, mostly to reduce starvation. (Sorry, didn't record what or where.)

Turn 443 (1833 AD)
Research begun: Biology

Turn 444 (1834 AD)
Grenoble's borders expand
Liz offers Railroad for Electricity and 890 GP - HIGHWAY ROBBERY!
Tenochtitlan falls to Germany. Monty has only one city left.

Turn 445 (1835 AD)
Chartres grows: 11

Turn 446 (1836 AD)
Lyons finishes: Rifleman
Trade Liz: Gems -> Silk

Turn 447 (1837 AD)
Lyons begins: Rifleman
Fred offers Railroad for Electricity + 890 GP: YOU TOO? Get outta here!

Turn 448 (1838 AD)
Paris finishes: Rifleman
Delphi grows: 10
Delphi finishes: Rifleman
Grenoble finishes: Taoist Temple

Turn 449 (1839 AD)
Paris begins: Cavalry
Delphi begins: Aqueduct
Grenoble begins: Courthouse
Rifleman loses to: Aztec Grenadier (7.44/12)
Damn! Was positioning our Riflemen Trio to view the demise of Monty. That bastard Grenadier was wounded and attacking across water! [pissed]

Turn 450 (1840 AD)
Only two wounded units left in Texcoco and Peter has Cossacks ready to take it next turn. Two French Riflemen left, might as well go for it.
Rifleman loses to: Aztec Cannon (2.04/12)
*ARGH* :wallbash: Odds were 89% to win and stuipid Rifleman loses! Can't take the city now, but at least our last Rifleman can get some experience.
Rifleman defeats (14.00/14): Aztec Cannon

Turn 451 (1841 AD)
SAYONARA MONTY!

Turn 452 (1842 AD)
*DOH!* Realize that I could have been starving Rheims to speed production of UN! Better late than never.

Turn 453 (1843 AD)
Peter demands Electricity: *Sigh* I suppose I'd better give in.
Before Peter trades it away, let's see what Liz and Fred will give me for it...
Trade Liz: Electricity + 580 GP -> Railroad (RR will add extra hammers to mined tiles.)
Trade Fred: Electricity -> 1180 GP + Map + Stop trading with Toku. He wouldn't give up Combustion. Jerk.

End turn Summary
With Rheims starving to increase production, UN will be done in 18. Cost to complete it is now ~ 12K. Currently 4K in our bank. Jericho, make sure you don't let Rheims loose any pop from starvation.

We could have had more in the bank, but I just couldn't allow research to remain at 0% for my entire turn, so I raised research to 50% for a few turns to hurry Biology along. (We can research it in 4 @ 100%; 6 @ 50%). Liz already has Destroyers, and Fred and Peter have Combustion. With our Frigate navy obsolete, I thought it best to continue to research so we don't fall too far behind in tech.

Toku has a couple of Galleons in Satsuma. I put a couple of French frigates just offshore to keep an eye on them.

Now that we have Railroad, I've activated our Workers to start improving the mined tiles around Rheims. Hopefully this might speed up production of the UN by a turn or two.

Let's see if Jericho can get the UN finished. If so, i would say, play until the first two votes, i.e., the Gen-Sec vote and the Diplo vote.

Otherwise, just play 10. We'll just make it so that whomever builds the UN should roll through to the first two votes.

A picture is worth 1000 words.

So I leave 5, the save file, and a hearty CONGRATULATIONS~!

Good work all around on this SG. The Diplomatic Win worked to perfection. Good idea pulling in all that gold. Basically, I bribed our friends on the turn of the election to secretary general and on the turn to diplomatic victory.

Enjoy and Kudos!

:goodjob:

*****in'!! Congrats all around guys!! This game was crazy and unique, and the next one, i think, will be just as crazy a variant, so i'm going to keep the level at prince, and it'll be a conquest victory.

Let's come up with some sort of name I can use for the game: It's title will be called "The Man in the Iron Mask" but I need a group name so let's come up w/something tomorrow.

Yey!!! good work guys!
For a name for a group, we can be The Three Musketeers and Dartanian lolz
(else if we're 5 with SkunkDoctor then it doesnt work...)
