Junkers Ju-87

I've made little airplane models with my dad ever since I was little, so I enjoy making them in civ! :p
Tanks just aren't as elegant to me, main reason why I'm not too interested in making them. They are machines made to viciously kill people, not that military planes aren't, but there is a difference to me. :scan:

I was thinking more along the lines of non-mechanical land units... humans for example. :D But you like aircraft too much anyway.

If I were to ever start making mechanical units then they would be cars (I love cars ) but there's no real need for them in civ.

I think I can guess how DutchKing made this model then. Let me guess, a model of a Corsair reworked in your editing program with a new set of textures over the top perhaps to make the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka?

And what about units for postapocalyptical mod? :)

That could work. You do: Import existing model>Modify heavily (drag vertecies and add them if necessary)>Export a boneless 3DS or OBJ into the ninode "bomber" or "fighter".

You can take parts from different models too, such as a wing from one plane and the fuselage of another.

Preview for the Spirit of Saint Louis. :D

No way in hell you can propose I got that from some magic place Gaius. :p
Need to do the texture and he's done.

Not to question the skill in modeling, but rather the purpose of said model... what/who exactly is the use of a "Spirit of Saint Louis" aircraft model in Civ4 for?

Outside of workers and settlers, just about every unit in Civ4 is a combat unit of some sort. We gonna mount guns on that thing?

I'm thinking hard as to who/what one would do with this model in Civ4.

Just sayin.

Isn't there already a unit out for this...? (Might be Civ 3.)

My thoughts exactly.

I make units for fun. I don't care if its any "use" to you.

Not that I know of.

When you imply "you" as-in "me"... I'm refering to the entire Civ4 community... not just "me". I'm really thinking hard to think of ANY modder in Civ4 who could use a Spirit of Saint Louis model... I'm drawing a blank.

Me personally... I can't use 12 differant British Battleships... but I know there are those in the community who could... I honestly can't think of one modder who could use a Spirit of Saint Louis...

Just Sayin.

But you're having fun... so that's what counts... even if nobody else can benefit from it! :goodjob:

I can think of pleanty of uses for the Spirit of St Louis - as a special culture unit, in an event, or as a wonder. Looks good to!

Let the man make what he wants to, and stop with the whole 'there's no use for it' or 'we already have X number of that same unit.' Comments like THAT do no good for anyone.

Amen.

Sheesh... let a guy have free speech...

Just sayin.

The constitution defends my right of freedom of speech, not the military.

The Military defends the rights stated in the constitution... a piece of paper doesn't garauntee your freedom, nor does it take a bullet to protect freedom.

Thanks for your support of the military and what they do for you every day. Your lack of appreciation for the military is well documented.

Just sayin
