Jurimax 1 - Ottomans on Top

Turn 1 -- 1350
--Yay! Communism!
--No doubt by now we're deffinatly aiming for Domination so I'm thinking about wrapping up the opposition on this continent. That's finishing the Dutch, Mayans and Celts off.
--Why did we have workers fortified in Entremont?

Turn 2 -- 1355 AD
--Getting troops ready to get rid of the Mayans in, hopefully, one turn.
--About to take out the Celts last two cities..

Turn 3 --1360 AD
--There's no way to defeat the Mayans in 1 turn without breaking the rules of engagement. It's going to take 2 turns. Not a big deal, I just wanna wrap this up as fast as possible so nobody makes any MAs.
--Declared War on Celts

Turn 4 -- 1365
--We destroyed the Celts
--Workers are all busy connecting cities by railroad.

Turn 5 -- 1370
--Getting ready to stomp the Mayans. It may end up being the next players job though.

Turn 6 -- 1375
--Alright by Turn 8 I'll start the war on the Mayans and if all goes to plan it should be over by Turn 10.

Turn 7 -- 1380
--Built a settler to fill in the gaps of the conquered territory.

Turn 8 -- 1385
--Declared War on the Mayans.
--Conquered Uaxactun and Izapa.
--Sent three Sephai after Bonampak but two retreated. Result is only one defender was killed. Might extend the war.

Turn 9 -- 1390
--Bonampak Taken.
--Grr... I thought I might have had a chance to end it this turn but the Mayan capital of Copan is being stubborn.
--Next turn the war will end.
--Koba Taken

Turn 10 -- 1395
--Copan Taken
--Mayans Destroyed.

AfterTurn Thoughts
I probably could have taken on two fronts, one with the Dutch and one with the Mayans but I think handling them one at a time is probably a smartrer choice. At any rate there are enough Siphai near the Dutch border to finish them off within the first fews turns of the next player. I think our goal is no doubt DOmination, and with control of this entire continent we are one step closer. Ever square of terrain matters so lets build settlers and fill in those gaps as well.

turn 1 - 1400 AD

Sipahi army formed in Tarsus
attack on the Dutch starts

vet Sipahi defeats reg Spear
vet Sipahi defeats reg Spear (one Longbow remains)

Eregli founded
Silifke founded

we currently need 532 tiles (on our continent we can get about 113)
so our current goal is securing and improving our own continent and once we're ready, push in a couple of turns for the rest of the needed tiles

IBT:
We give 4 luxes and Commie to Sumeria for 3 luxes and Free Artistry and a trade embargo vs Aztecs

turn 3 - 1410 AD

attack on Utrecht continues

Sumeria and Aztecs peace

turn 4 - 1415 AD

embassy in Atec capital (Huari) (Musket, 2 Spears, Pike and Longbow)
Alliance with Sumeria vs Iro for Horses

Astalavista Hollandia

changed builds on home continent to Workers, Settlers, Courthouses, ...

turn 5 - 1420 AD

Prolongued RoP with Sumeria

turn 10 - 1445 AD

zzz
2 Settlers near new city locations on our continent
A lot of our cities are now connected by the ORS (Ottoman Railroad System)

to next player:
Courthouses and Police stations will decrease our Communal Corruption
We need a lot more workers to improve the country side (remember irrigated desert + rails = 2 Food).
On the Iro Continent, defend and secure what we've got.

NOTE: Iro Navy approaching where I unloaded the Sipahi on the way for Iro land (leave them there or else the Iro might unload on the mountains)

Preturn- Move lots of Sipahi. Don't need defenses in the home continent (not going to be attacked), IMO, but only disband a couple since we aren't paying unit support on them. Did disband for unit annd culture rushing, though. Science to 80%, we can easily afford that and it'll only be for a turn most likely. Thinking about research, after Replaceable Parts I was thinking Scientific Method next for ToE, then Industrialization for factories. Begin Shakespeare's as a prebuild for ToE in Istanbul. Oh, and Istanbul doesn't need a police station- no corruption in the capital. Not necessary for WW either, it's Communism. Wake up a few workers.
IBT- A few Sipahi die.
1
Science to 70%, Electricity in 1 turn.
IBT- Sipahi army dies! Still have 1 more left... Electricity==>Replaceable Parts. We get an SGL! I think I'll get an army (rush it at Istanbul.)
2
Starting to think more about what to do with the SGL.... Still like the army idea, but if we could wait 12 turns or so we could rush ToE. Science up to 90%. Marmaris founded. Turn lux off and MM a bit. Cupisnique captured (originally Aztec, captured by Iroquois, then captured by me. Decide on waiting and rushing ToE rather than an army, switch Istanbul to army and MM to 11 turns. Cataractonium will probably be captured, but I have 8 sipahis coming over there so it'll be fine.
IBT- Sumeria and Iroquois sign peace, breaking the military alliance. Cataractonium captured by the Iroquois. GILGAMESH DECLARES WAR ON US!!! Well we lost like 3 lux and only 1 city riots.
3
Kastamonu founded. Ally Aztecs into the war with Sumeria, don't feel like MAW (that's Monarch Always War, and that's another game.) They get Banking in the trade.
IBT- Cupisnique captured by Hiawatha. Sumeria captured Tlaxcala. Iroquois build Shakespeare's.
4
Kish captured. Time to try fighting 2 fronts... Cataractonium captured. Lux back to 20%.
IBT- Sumeria builds Magellan's... thank you.
5
Want to sign peace with Hiawatha but I can't because of the alliance.
IBT- Iroquois get an MGL. War is getting ugly. Tlateleco captured by Sumeria.
6
Tenochtitlan is dead, abandon. I have absolutely no choice, sign peace with Iroquois but I get Kente and 5 gold. I'd keep Kente but it's in a rather deadly zone and is open to sneak attack. Now these wars are going badly, making some changes. Most major infrastructure is built, so I'm going just about all-Sipahi plus a few boats and necessary improvements.
IBT- Build a bunch of Sipahis, the new Ottoman military is coming!
7
Science to 80%, Replaceable Parts in 1 turn. Apparently dropping off 5-10 units at a time isn't working... time for a massive invasion of the other continent :evil:
IBT- Replaceable Parts==> Scientific Method. Science to 50%, Scientific Method in 6.
8
Change some Sipahi builds to Infantry, it'll provide defense yet is still okay on offense. Upgrade MDIs, they'll join in too. 49.6% chance that I'll lose the Sipahi army (thanks to CombatCalc, can be found here: http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3combatcalc.html Hope the RNG will be happy with me.
IBT- Sumeria just pillaged, but it looks very dangerous there....
9
Army escapes from Kish and goes home. Kish is abandoned.
10
Pucara is ours. Game crashes, I love autosaves!!!

Summary: War isn't exactly going great. I'm assembling a nice big stack of units to drop off at the other continent. I want it at both sides (two loading areas ATM anyway.) Hold on to what little we have, build a big stack, then game over (for the AIs.) No more agreements for us, but at this point I don't see a need for them. Keep science at where it is, when Istanbul finishes Sipahi we'll get Scientific Method then ToE. Good luck to the next player.

A couple of suggestions:

1. Switch some Sipahi to Infantry/arty and reinforce our saltpeter supply. I wouldn't mind seeing both(colony and city that's connected to it) guarded by at least 5 inf each. If we have to whip em, whip em. We can't afford to lose that saltpeter.

2. After Sci Method, I'd suggest getting to transports. We have a ton of gold, so if we have to burn GPT to get there quickly then I'd say go for it. If we can get to transports, it'll be much easier to produce/transport our SODs over to the other continent.

3. Get our rail network finished before putting track down around cities. I think it's more important to have our entire continent connected by rails then it is to improve one city at this point.

BTW, we can always go for Flight and get our troops over to the other continent via Airfields (so we'd need one airport or Airfield on the other continent)

We'd need a lot of Airfields (= Workers) on our railnetwork.

Thanks for posting the roster. I had no idea I was up. Ok, I got it and should play either tonight or sometime tomorrow depending on my schedule.

I am not sure which path we should go .. Navy or flight? If I remember the tech tree, we are far away from either, so I dont think I'll have to worry about that during my set. For now, I'll try to secure our saltpeter, and get as many infantry/Sipahi over to the warring continent as soon as possible. I also think we should have some defenders on our home continent on border cities. Just enough to fend off a small landing or 2.

Preturn

-- Chichen Itza Sipahi -> Infantry in 9
-- Antwerpen Sipahi -> Infantry in 9
-- Konya Galleon -> Artilery in 20

-- Building up southern invasion army in colhuacan. Galleon full of 3 Sipahi and 1 Guerila due in 3 turns.
-- Sipahi army also heading toward Colhuacan due in 3
-- Actually after looking at things more closely, and seeing all the sitting Galleons, I will move them all to Ixtapalapan for an attack on Tlaxcala. Will get there in 4.

-- 2 Guerrilas unloaded in Texcotzingo. Galley heads back for more. Will get there in 5.
-- Change Camulodunum to Aqueduct in 11 and chop forest on silks.
-- More troops unloaded on both fronts with boats heading back for more.
-- Whip harbor in Texcotzingo and it costs 1 citizen.
-- Attack on Tlaxcala
-- Sipahi vs Rifle Sipahi wins, but redlined.
-- Sipahi vs Rifle Sipahi wins, loses 2 HP and captures the city. Temple in 15.
-- There is a stack of 4 to the east of Tlaxcala. Using rest of our new force to wipe that out.
-- Sipahi vs Rifle .. redlined and didnt scratch him

Turn 7
-- Sumerians re-take Tlaxcala. Sorry, if I had seen that stack sitting there, I would have never taken it without my re-inforcements. Will get it back this turn.
-- Amsterdam Sipahi -> Sipahi in 6.
-- Lugdunum Sipahi -> Infantry in 8.
-- Antalya Sipahi -> Sipahi in 10.

-- Sipahi redlined, but takes 2 HP off rifle
-- Sipahi finishes off Rifle with no damage.
-- Sipahi loses to injured crusader, and promotes him
-- Sipahi finishes off Crusader, and takes Tlaxcala. Now occupy it with 9 Sipahi, 1 Guerila, and 2 armies.
-- Stack outside Tlaxcala. 4 longbows and 4 rifles. Will use my 13 HP army to see what I can do with it.
-- Takes out 1 rifle with no damage
-- Takes out 2nd rifle, but loses 11 HP in the process. He's done.
-- There is a solo injured crusader next to Tlaxcala. I try to take it out with 1 Sipahi, but he's redlined in the process.
-- Change Richborough to temple due in 1 in an attempt to make it more productive.
-- With Iriquois hovering about our cost, I upgrade a remaining rifle to infantry for 15 gold and get him ready to move if they land.
-- MM Arnhem and change to Aqueduct due in 16.
-- Change Breda to Aqueduct due in 11.
-- Fortify remaining Sipahi in Tlaxcala for impending assault.

Turn 8
-- Stack retreats!! Does not attack Tlaxcala.
-- Ankara Galleon -> Infantry in 13.
-- Samsum Galleon -> Artilery in 20
-- Richborough Temple -> Library in 7. Influence expands, but no where for new shields. Still at 4 scientists.
-- Eskishir Sipahi -> Infantry in 12
-- Georgovia Sipahi -> Harbor in 10.
-- Rotterdam Sipahi -> Sipahi in 8.
-- Uaxactun Sipahi -> Galleon in 8 (we need more ships in our western/northern front).
-- I am going to hit that stack that is in retreat. They are on a flood plain so they get no defensive bonus.
-- 12 HP army .. Takes out rifle no damage. Takes out 2nd rifle no damage, promotes one Sipahi to elite. Takes out longbow 1 damage. Takes out 1 longbow, no damage. No more stack :)
-- It's tempting to go after Texcoco, but I only have 5 healthy Sipahi so I am going to wait a turn.
-- I am going to leave the galleons off Ankara for now. Once the next player amases 3-4 galleys full of troops, I'd suggest sending them to Ur and really strike a blow to the Sumerians. I have 3 boatloads ready with more empties on the way to pick up the straglers in Ankara (including a settler I found fortified in Kayseri).

Turn 9
-- Sumerians want to talk. We cant get anything but a straight peace treaty, so I refuse.
-- Izamal Sipahi -> Library in 20.
-- Middleburg Sipahi -> Library in 10.
-- Artuin Sipahi -> Aqueduct in 12.
-- Another stack of 3 presents itself for our army.
-- Rifle down, no damage. Rifle down, 2 damage. Crusader down. Total of 6 HP gone. 7 left. Will wait and see how my attack on Texcoco goes to see where I put him
-- Attack on Texcoco
-- Sipahi redlined vs rifle .. no damage to rifle.
-- Sipahi killed by rifle, redlines it but promotes it.
-- Sipahi redlined, but finished it off. sheesh
-- Sipahi vs Enkidu wins loses 1HP and takes Texcoco with 2 workers. Library in 14.
-- All injured troops and army are now in Texcoco. Still leaves 6 Sipahi and army in Tlaxcala to do something with.

Turn 10
-- Chichen Itza Infantry -> Infantry in 9
-- Edrine Infantry -> Sipahi in 7
-- Antwerpen Infantry -> Factory in 20.
-- Infantry -> Infantry in 18
-- Silifke Sipahi -> Library in 7.
-- Maltaya Sipahi -> Temple in 30.
-- I am going to send the healthy army after Erech
-- Rifle out with losing 1HP. Looks like there is only 1 Longbow left.
-- Pike entering our territory. Sipahi from Tlax takes him out with no damage.
-- Took out Longbow by Texcoco losing 1 HP on Sipahi. Move him back to Texcoco.
-- Changed Lugunum to Factory in 16 and chopping forest on plains next to it. Will irrigate once the square is clear to get Lug growing again.
-- Yaxchilan now producing 15 SPT with 15 FPT. Switching to Aqueduct in 5. Should be a productive city with more growth.

That is that. We are at 2516 gold, will get refining in 3 turns and are losing 7 GPT. There are Galleons on goto orders moving back and forth between our fronts, but that's about it. We should have a large enough force by Ankara now to invade Sumeria proper and Erech should fall next turn as well. We should build some settlers to fill in the gaps in Sumerian territory as we capture it.

Railnet is complete and I was concentrating on getting our 2nd core productive with rail, mining BGs that were irrigated by the computer, and mining mountains/hills with stacks of workers.

Got it, sorry for the delay.
