Justinian's University: Defeating the Deities

Well done! :goodjob:

Wouldn't say it's that much of a disappointing SnowlyWhite, it was in the cards that any military action would be a success with such massive land and production. I'm just thankful it didn't end up in a chobo Space victory, I really hate those, it would blemish the entire game ;)

Thanks again from me too, and I hope there will be a follow-up thread. I know stuff like this is very time-demanding, but if you feel busy just play smaller parts at a time. If you stop now you'll disappoint your new followers/fans from the chinese site too, can't let that happen! :D

I just cant get over how fast he made it thru the tech-tree. 1655 and he's almost in post-modern era.

Research speed was about normal for a winning game on deity. Techs are expensive on deity but you get a lot of trading partners. My game in ABCF first deity challenge was kind of fast with a solid four member tech-club.

Frankly, I'd be happy to have knights in 1700 if my opponents have archers. That's what really matters. In Justinian's University, Mansa lacked both Combustion (for tanks) and Artillery (for anti-tanks), consequently the moment his city defenses were down CR2 tanks easily killed everything inside.

However I'd like to see X's University continue (and I believe there are others who liked to see that too). My favourite is a Deity game with Suryavarman II of the Khmer empire. He seems quite interesting to me - he has probabely the 'strangest' UU and UB there is.

My boss and my gf are not happy with you :D

Hm. For the time being, I want to close whatever loose threads I have, like the ABCF challenges. I do have an idea about another demo-game, something that hasn't been done yet.

You tease! Now you got me even more excited, leaving us hanging like that, a true master of the art of storytelling - pffft! :crazyeye:

Nice win... what made you choose a diplomatic victory rather than domination or space?

As the saying goes, diplo is a watered down domination. I was already massing transports/battleships for the invasion of Saladin (he still had longbows) when the vote came up and I thought "why not". Between Byzantine and Roman votes, all that was needed was either the Ottomans or the Celts.

Space was also a guaranteed success from this position. Heck, even cultural was likely possible with 5 religions, Hermitage, and Sushi.

That's too bad because I don't keep the pics. I do have saves, so I can replace some of the missing with new ones when I have the time.

Actually, I downloaded the prephilo-postphilo pics as I wasl like  when I saw them :D I can post them if someone likes but I don't think so...

Maybe you could upload them to photobucket or imageshack and then ask Unconquered Sun to link to them in his posts? I'd also be very interested to read this thread!

I'm waiting for his answer. I can post them here or send them to him by mail.

@Unconquered Sun how did you get CS in 1 turn, what am I missing? Didn't look like anyone else had it to trade to you. Bulb? Or did you go straight to paper from theo and go back to it later?
