My game crashes a lot, though less than it did in 17.1. It's really frustrating.
Did you notice the VAB ceiling is now solid and you can't build through it? How do you propose to build a space elevator? You can technically make one now.
Load up a modded part that is 2.5km long and stack about 30 of them together![]()
I have an AMD cpu....darn it.Me too. They say the game dislikes AMD cpus. If you have one--I do--that may be your problem.
I am guessing that the old mods still work or have been patched to be compatible with .18, because I know cardgame uses them. But I'm not sure. What mods are good for 0.18 ?
Just you wait...edit: I use an AMD chip and I think the game has only frozen for me once or twice..
YES
Landed on the Mun! Finally!

I burned up waaaay too much fuel trying to land though. Attempted to get into orbit around the Mun and used up my fuel halfway there.
Either I need to use less landing, or I need to find a way to sneak more fuel onto the craft. I'm weary of adding more weight though... hmm

Good job!
If you are having fuel problems, I would suggest cutting down a little on landing gear (you probably only need 3-4 of the light gear, not all those heavy ones) and other miscellaneous stuff. There are also extendable ladders that are less heavy than putting down tons of those tiny ladders.
Fuel-wise, I sometimes strap extra tanks on around the lander using decouplers and fuel lines to feed my central engine. I use the fuel in those tanks to get to the planet and begin the de-orbit burn. When the fuel in those tanks run out, I jettison them and use them as one-shot range finders to help me know where the ground is to land (this is referred to as ASPLP, Antilogic Standard Planet Littering Procedure).

Congrats!
That's exactly what keeps happening to me. My first proper mun landing left me with almost enough fuel to get home... Ever since that I've been trying to design a rocket that will get me there and back.. meaning I beefed up my fuel reserves a bit... but so far I haven't see any progress in terms of actually having more fuel when I land - I usually end up having less than I had that first time I landed.
I'm going to have to really re-think my design and maybe scale things down.
edit: I gotta say though that my landers that have been successful at landing on the mun have been much shorter than yours. What does your 2nd stage look like?
Feeding fuel to your central tank and then jettisoning them is a great idea - I'm going to try that. My next step was going to be similar.. but not quite.
Yeah, I think I'm going to nix the battery and lights as well. I'm not sure the battery is doing anything other than the lights, and the lights I never use.
And do those tiny ladders really weigh that much? Hmm, maybe I'll nix those as well, along with the heavy landing gear.
I already kinda did the jettisoning idea with extra tanks, though I might just add more of them on and see how that works.
