Kerbal Space Program

Haha, brilliant!
Care to upload that ship?
How do I do that?

I have to do some studying on orbital docking. You guys are up to some really cool stuff!

___________

I think that as they add more stuff to this game, we are going to need a stickied subforum. :)

So when your are moving a rover on the surface, you cannot switch back to the space center or take over any flights. So you either stick with the rover until you are ready to end the mission, or you have to wait for an autosave and then quit the game. :( Annoying.

Quicksaving won't help so much because when you reload, you'll be back controlling the rover so you have to wait for an autosave to get to a point where you can close the game and reopen it and take over another flight.

If you guys haven't seen the Community Space Station thread, you should now.

I don't know how to create and upload .rar's. :(

For the love of god, does someone know what menu the umbrella antenna is under? I've looked everywhere and can't find it.

To create a .rar, you right click a folder and hit "Compress" or something like that.

The umbrella is in the Science tab at the top left.

All I have Pods, Propulsion, Control, Structure, Aero and Utility tabs...no science tab.

Edit: Found it. I was running the game in windowed mode and that deletes the science tab.

I saw someone on the forums with the same problem, I'll see if they found a solution.

EDIT: The problem is with your screen resolution. Try raising it.

Missing planning is essential, watch Scott Manley's vid on docking.

I don't like the new docking mode personally, simple enough to use the IHJKN keys for translation and QWASDE for rotation.

I haven't even tried the new docking mode yet. I was having problems with the manuever planner but I got it now. :D

So apparently they weren't docked. Those two identical adapters do not actually attach to one another and the game lacks documentation to say which kind of adapters go to what.
Oh well, I feel like it still counts.

I actually managed to dock something! It's not a space station, it's the first two parts of my Interplanetary MotthaShip.

Of course, I'll have to do this again for the third main module, four times for the landers, and many, many more times for everything to get refueled. It'll be worth it, though...

Well, I used the day to create a colony module for space transit. Took a while, but it worked. Now I got a small moon colony setup. And every unit can actually move via RCS thrusters - man, I really love how powerful they are in 0.18! :D

(Yes, those two of those are damaged - hovering with RCS is still a bit tricky for me.)

And while you guys have awesome stuff, I'm happy to announce that my first adventure into 0.18 has been a success.

Took me absoballylutely ages to line up the docking just right... but I did it, and I'm quite proud.

(Power and Core modules)

Next plan: a spaceplane docked underneath the power module. If I can get one to work. Record high: 38km

There is a crater, and I bet there's an easter egg on that island.
Cardgame said he went there and found no easter egg. :(

I thought there would be one there too. Maybe another magic boulder or something.

Hey, to create a hovering unit, have you thought about radially mounting some of the new tiny engines to the sides of your craft? It will be still be a bit difficult to hover because it's likely you will always be rising or falling, but surely being able to use the throttle to control the up or down motion while only using RCS to go side to side or forward and backward will be much simpler than using RCS for everything. This is what I mean:
