Kill Bill

I guess he must hate asians too?

Judging by his name 'James', he lives in the USA - yes?

I think you are striving to hard for your thesis, Curt. You make it sound like a deliberate ploy. 'Tis merely a 'homage' and a damn good one I feel.

Shhh! :D
(you'll make them realise !)

OK, I will now admit I have been pushing the boundaries a bit to see just what people will say to my 'racist' charge.

I suppose I should mention, I am a big fan of Uma,
and have a big collection of Chop-Socky movies!

In short:
I have been having you lot for mugs!

I really don't mind the movie!

The movie is cheesy, but no more racial than a Don Kong movie from the 1960s!

:D

Yes, his mother and father immigrated from Japan.

Curt I think you have a misunderstanding of American Culture. Americans for the most part have alot of respect for Japanease culture. Many things Japanease have made their way into American Pop Culture and I think this is reflected in Kill Bill.

The way Uma fought villans in Kill Bill is a far cry from some nationilistic crap like Pearl Harbor. The villans in Kill Bill were protrayed in a positive light, or at least I thought so. I went home thinking that Gogo was the coolest character in the whole movie.

But I guess your probably better at spotting racism against asians better then asian americans are.

EDIT: Damn you Curt! :p

I just came out of the cinema and I really loved it!

Gestapo officers have been issued to bring you in herr Sibling.

A man has to amuse himself somehow! :D

*hears jackboots outside*

Help!

I would venture that while it was a crap movie, the Avengers featured Uma at her slinky best...!

(No racial joke intended.)

You fell for my elaborate scheme of leg-pulling...

So this entire argument in this thread was an elaborate ruse to make someone say that? :p

Nope.

It was an elaborate ruse to add some excitement to OT, test my irony skills,
and provide amusement on a boring Saturday night here in Glas Vegas.

Mostly a success! :D

I wonder if this is the same excuse Louis Farrakhan will use on his deathbed.

I still can't forgive you for liking the Avengers. :p

Worry not, I hate the movie too - I just fancy Uma in that spray-on suit!

I thought Volume One was disgustingly gory. Why the over exagerated blood spraying? I have never been as disgusted at a film as I was at this one.

I just saw Vol.2 last night. I'm still thinking about which one to rate higher.

~50 people being killed in a bar by one woman armed with nothing but a Samurai sword
vs.
The same woman ripping her adversary an eye out and stamping on it with her foot (not to mention the obvious referral to stamping a goldfish later on in the movie)

Tough choice. Lucy Liu is in the first film, while in the second one, there's live burials, poisonous snakes, better insults... damn!

To conclude: I love both films!

I think it would be proper to post a pic of Uma, just to help people's critical perceptions...:)

Just seen Kill Bill Vol2 for the second time last night, and it's even better than the first time! Every scene has something special in it, be it the music or the camera position.. If you pay attention to details, you'll notice Tarrantino included all kinds of cool hints.. Especially look out for names, music and signs..

Awesome movie!
