'Kryptonite' discovered in mine

Does anyone else think it odd that there's no krypton in kryptonite?

Krypton is a noble gas. Noble gases are inert. They rarely react with other elements/compounds/molecules.*

So, no it's not odd.

* Some wiseass could surely come by and tell you about the exceptions. I won't bother.

I'm well aware about noble gases and that sort of thing, I just meant that for a compound without any krypton, it's a bit of a misnomer, no?

Yeah it is a misnomer alright, but don't blame me.

Maybe they wanted it to sound, you know, a little cryptic?

:ack:
