Made at the suggestion of players in RFMK III.

So, it's been a while since we've had a Lazy NES, and all the ones we have end up dying. I therefore have created this thread so we can try to organize a new LazyNES or two, as there seems to be consensus of wanting play them in the last thread.

Does anyone have any ideas, and/or want to GM?

Well I say we find someone to be GM and then think of ideas. Someone should advertise in the forum games list.

As a future lurker, I suggest advertising in the non- lazy NES forum. There are probably a lot of people willing to play there.

I would consider playing a lazyNES except that I suck at them and always end up leaving after a few updates. Consider this tentative interest though, if one does start up.

Bratmon: the non-lazyNES forum does not approve of these. Or at least, the vocal minority does not approve.

Ekolite: advertise for GMs, or players?

@Catharsis

Why not? What have we ever done to them?

Nothing, it's just that the majority of NESers aren't interested in this kind of thing, and thankfully in some cases tend to stick to their own forum. I disapprove of the name "lazy-nes", they are not NESes - they are forum games.

Well actually there BASED of off NESes, so in a way they are their own subtype of an NES. BTW I would love to join a game if one is started.

yeah, Some NESers are elitist. but not all.

some Ideas I like:

My "reclaiming the world"
Italian/german unification
Ancient mediteranean
Chinese unification (could also include japan, korea, the mongols, and, depending on time frame, the various hordes(golden horde, etc)
American Mainland (native tribes?)

I vote ancient Med/Europe, using the Europe Map we used for RfMK 3 (or a similar one), and NO FRIKKIN EXPANDING OFFMAP.

I say that both of your ideas are lame. :p

I will play, of course. I feel that a Japanese unification would be doable, along with an Ancient Mediterranean (could use original RfMK III map for Mediterranean). Neither of those have potential for expanding their maps.

There is nothing in this thread describing what Lazy-NES is...

It's basically an NES for lazy people as the name suggests. If someone starts one they will put the rules for their game in it, and usually they aren't that hard to learn, considering most Lazy-NESes are, well, lazy.

EDIT: the last RFMK game was lazy on a whole different level.

A LazyNES is a bit like Civ but played on the forum. You have a map, and each player controls a nation on that map, and they send in orders to the GM describing what stats to put gold into, what tech to research, where to expand, who to attack etc.

Like kill fire says, they are based around Never-Ending Stories (NESes) which are the same thing, only more complex usually. The NES forum is a few links above All Other Games on the CFC forums main page.

EDIT: the last lazyNES that was played (the thread called 'Rise from Medieval Kingdoms III Thread Two) is an example of what one can look like many turns in.
