I received a leader with the very first battle I had in this game. A goodie hut made my archer elite, and I took the English town of London and produced a leader, Kublai Khan.

I have never gotten a leader this quickly before. I am going to rush the pyramids now. I have attached a save.

I built the pyramids in 2430 B.C. !!

Had that with a game where I was isolated and killed of the only civ on my island. Happy as can be.... then i realized I'd have to do my own research, and do it at full cost since I'd never meet anyone until Astronomy... There were 14 civs left and since it was a pangaea map they'd be in contact quickly..... :(

 LOL Lt. Shot yourself in the foot on that one, eh?

Barker, thats a great story. I love early wars, and especially early GLs.

I did it one time as the Germans, in almost the same manner as you.
Goody huts with barbs can be a gift to militaristic civs, some lucky defense and you got an elite unit.

The odds of early GLs arent good, but if theres a nearby civ that doesnt have bronze working, you might as well go for it. :D
The reward (Pyramids in 2000 BC) is worth it, and memories are shorter in the ancient age. ;)

Amazingly A game I played a month ago I got a GL in I believe 2000 something B.C and used it up got another a turn or two later. Pyramids and the Great Library was quite nice.
