Well although its not official, it seems as though Valve have inadvertently leaked L4D 3. So i guess that destroys peoples longing for Half life 3 yet again. Still, it will be interesting to see what the new game will comprise of. personally, im not too sure what else valve can get out of the new source engine. I would have thought they would be developing a new engine to coincide with the launch of the next gen consoles.

But its always fun to speculate. If you could invent a special infected, what would it be called and what would its abilities be? Presumably they will be including a number of new special infected.

I'm pretty sure they have two games meant to showcase Source 2: HL3 and L4D3.

If I could invent a special infected, it'd be a Spore. Tall, lanky creature that is covered in mushrooms and fungus. It throws small bombs a great distance that have a small poison radius, like the Spitter. Heavily armoured top half but weak legs. Poison effect lasts for 5-10 seconds.

I would invent a crusher. Your objective would be to pick up a survivor and pin them up against the wall, slowly squeezing them to death, with the longer they are attached, the more damage done.

If they are making HL3, then its the best kept secret in gaming history.

I have read that valve were impressed with Skyrims open world interface and might be looking to incorporate that kind of system into an open world shooter. No info on whether this was half life 3 of course, but something that ambitious would probably be worthy of HL3. If they managed to pull that off I think I could die happy.
