Legendary Earth Mod (LEM)

I probably wouldnt try to put the Netherlands and Germany or Austria and Venice on the same map, seems like they'd be a bit tight.

Brave New World is only a few hours away. :D

I'm trying to come up with two separate lists of civilizations for two different versions of the map. I'll be keeping with the Old World start idea, so only Europe/Asia/Africa civilizations. Tell me what you think, civilizations in parentheses would be swapped out between versions.

  1. Arabia
  2. Egypt
  3. Carthage (Morrocco)
  4. China
  5. India
  6. Ethiopia
  7. Japan
  8. Russia
  9. Huns
  10. Mongolia
  11. Siam (Indonesia)
  12. Songhai
  13. Zulu
  14. Byzantium (Ottomans)
  15. Denmark (Sweden)
  16. Babylon (Persia)
  17. Spain (Portugal)
  18. England
  19. France (Netherlands)
  20. Germany (Austria)
  21. Rome (Venice)

I really like this.

I would also like a New World version eventually too, so I can exploit the Shoshone and Brazil :p As some of your playthroughs have shown, there is very little activity in the New World even by the modern age, which feels a bit strange!

Your mod consistently my favorite for CiV however and my BNW purchase won't feel truly complete until LEM is updated :)

I would be very grateful if some of you make TSL Earth map with all of new Civs from Brave New World. And if it is possible do not put in American civ, just the native American and Brazil, please.

Hello!

Will one be able to play this in MP BNW? Also, are you working on the Game Speed issue? Our MP folks play Quick mode, as even at that speed, the game takes 14-20+ hours!

Thanks for your work on this Map!

Regards,

Marc

It does work with BNW. The Arabs seem a little overpowered now though. I've played two games since BNW and the Arabs always dominate.

Yes it works, but it is in the process of being updated to include the new civs, natural wonders, etc. and to be re-balanced to account for these changes and for the new mechanics.

I've done several playtests on both versions of the map and I'm still working out the kinks before releasing it.

1. I'm looking fwd to the LEM uptade incorporating BNW.

2. Please leave the current G+K version (v.5) in Steam for those who have campaigns running.

Thx.

Not possible to do without uploading a whole separate mod which I won't do...putting Steam in offline mode should keep mods from automatically updating.

On another note, just an update that both versions of the BNW update are coming along nicely. And just a teaser to show the fun that I'm having:

And we were all worried that Indonesia would be underpowered. :p

The Legendary Earth Mod has been officially updated for Brave New World...grab it on Steam or from the CFC database.

Enjoy! :)

HI, just one question. Will be available some third version with Americas civilizations? (Brazil, USA...)

Possibly, now that we have a few more civilizations to flesh out the Americas. The hard part is deciding which Old World civilizations to remove...I'll start tinkering with the idea and see what I can come up with.

Me, in about an hour. Thanks! :goodjob:

I hope it lives up to your expectations. :)

Make sure you're ticking the "Load Scenario" button after selecting the map.

I hade tick "load scenario"- I think mistake is in my game (there are no civilizations from G&K update... maybe I reinstalled it or something like that.

thanks, maybe will be good if there would be possibility for every player to choose civilizations that like and that will be playable. But i am not sure if it is possible :)

Finishing up a game here as Poland and a thought occurred to me.

How would you all feel about me integrating something similar to the Historical Religions Mod? The goal would be to have a unique religion for each civilization in the game that only they have a preference for, so that way you don't get Taoism founded in London and Buddhism founded in Marrakech. I think it would do a lot for immersion.

I feel like there's not much more to do for balancing so I'm looking for something else to do with the mod. :)

Let me know what you guys think!

While it's a great idea, i use that very mod myself, it'd be very difficult have a unique religion for each civ.
The selection of civs just has too much overlap in terms of religion. Most of northern europe would be protestant, most of southern europe catholic. Really, most of the issues come from the christian civs in europe.

Well I guess 21 unique religions wouldn't be possible, but Europe could be given less overlap by having Sweden with Norse religion, Poland with a Slavic religion, etc. I suppose I could just integrate a pre-existing religions mod but that takes the fun out of doing it myself. :p

The fun is the most important thing!
Some wiggling could be done, England could be Anglican for example. Just adding in christian denominations tends to solve quite a bit, though giving Egypt it's very own religion is also a great move, a better match with the ancient Egypt represented in the game.
