Also I must ask why the spread of land provinces is 200 year? That basically means you won't be gaining cores on any conquests.

That's 200 years for lands discovered in the Americas to be revealed to non-exploring nations. It's set high because if it is any lower, you'll have weird instances of nations like Hamburg and Florence colonizing the Americas. Cores always spread at 50 years no matter the settings.
If wabatt doesn't come on within one hour of the game starting, I'll make a new Hamachi network.

Well, considering he had no chances of expanding, i think he explored some of the new world tough.
You could co-op with him, both of you playing Sweden, and he seems to not be much experienced, so he could learn a thing or two in Co-op.
