The administration of Johann Cicero I von Zweibrücken

Ahh, Johann Cicero I is a interesting subject to speak about, some may claim that he was nothing more than a tyrant because of his agressive policies regarding the centralization of the state of Brandenburg, but it should also be considered that his reforms greatly improved the fragile economy of the young margraviate, allowing for the expansion of Brandenburg, both inside and outside the holy roman empire, his reign is nothing close to peaceful, with many wars being fought during his reign.

the growing powers of Europe

of all his accomplishments the most notable are the agressive centralization of the state, the pro-innovative policies of the king, and the strong diplomacy that allowed for Brandenburg to establish strong alliances with the likes of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, England, and Austria, the latter dishonoured the alliance after Brandenburg attacked both Thuringia and Bohemia, in addition to the alliance with Castille that was established during the reign of his father.

He fough many wars, the most important can be considered to be the "War of Mecklenburgan sucession", the "War for the Thuringian throne", the "War of sucession of Pommerania", the "Polish conquest of Hungary" and the "Austrian-Bohemian war".
three of them direcly added to the power of Brandenburg, as it defeated the likes of Denmark, Bohemia, Thuringia and Pommerania with the help of its allies. Two of these wars were started with the objective of claiming the throne of other countries, and adding them in a personal union under Brandenburg, another one direcly annexed Pommerania.
A interesting thing to point out is how Brandenburg annexed territories in Hungary, jut to give them to Poland in exchange for (later) gaining their prussian territories, adding to Johann ambition of proclaiming himself king outside of the empire, in order to not anger (even more) the Bohemian king or destroy the balance of titles inside the empire, as only the rulers of Bohemia or Poland have the title of king.

I would like if someone uploaded the save, too. I need it to write my mini-aar.

I am interested in starting before Sunday, I may be busy tomorrow until 7pm EST at which time I will then be free to participate. But after tomorrow any time works.

I felt I should explain what exactly happened in Muscowy:

From the first time I assumed control Muscowy was in dire straits, they had already lost Tula to the Golden Horde and were fighting their second war against them at the time. My neighbors were likewise suffering with the exception of Novgorod who appears to be holding well against the Golden Horde in the battles I have seen between them.

In the years that passed, I managed to get Muscowy back to a more stable level by reducing the ridiculous AI minting level to approximately half and began searching for a Master of Mint, then I began reducing my Infamy and increasing my Legitimacy. All this was helped by the Muscovite conquest of Ryazan and Yaroslav. At this point Muscowy was sitting in a pretty good position, we were strong enough to prevent the Golden Horde from defeating us while making sure Novgorod minded its own business. I then shifted my focus towards seeing my merchants dominate the CoT at Novgorod.

It was here that I got a little bit bold, some might say too aggressive, but in any case I DOWed Novgorod expecting their ally Denmark to do nothing. Little did I know at the time that Denmark called in Sweden who was in a PU with Denmark and Sweden sent a large army to assist Novgorod. At first my armies were defeated and I was forced to retreat to Moskva, but the attrition began eating away at Sweden and I finally managed to defeat them enough to force a peace, (I knew in order to fully defeat Novgorod I had to get Sweden out of the war) but Sweden kept demanding that I convert to Catholicism. At this point I figured, well since I now have the upper hand I will just continue fighting them both while building up another large army to post on the Swedish border.

At this critical point in the war, just when everything was beginning to go Muscowy's way, the Golden Horde DOWed and annihilated my army at Moskva, already losing Yaroslav, Ryazan and Vladimir to sieges, I accepted Novgorod's peace offer to cede Yaroslav and liberate Ryazan and another country I cannot spell off the top of my head, Slomenz. I accepted, at this point fearing a powerful Swedish army I accepted Sweden's offer to convert to Catholicism and signed the treaty. I was now left with only 2 provinces, Vladimir and Moskva, both of which the Golden Horde promptly besieged. At that point I knew I was lost and done. Despite Poland's attempt to try and help it was ultimately a lost cause.

In the end if only the Golden Horde had not intervened I would have had Novgorod defeated and partly annexed or entirely annexed, depending on what my Conquest Casus Belli was able to get me. Unfortunately things did not work out that way. So I switched to England in the next restart and annexed Scotland and simply took it easy for the rest of the game, only participating in wars when my human allies needed help.

Front page updated.

The forums won't let me upload a save though, even as a text document, because "A security token is missing." I'll try again when I get home.

Ohh, it looks like we may have a AI Hindustan! look at that Vijayanagar! if only they conquered Ceylon...

Perhaps those interested in playing earlier in the week could start a new game to play, this way people can get their eu3 fix and those who can't play in the middle of the week are not affected. If enough people want to start the new game I'd love to play golden horde with another person.

Also try zipping the save file before you upload it.

I too would not mind playing a second game.
