LGBT rampage

How do you view creation? (will not ask for proof or the science behind it, be as subjective and have a guess as you like)

God creates a Universe 13.7 bil years ago. Does he create Earth or does he guide matter and energy to make Earth appear? It would be impressive if he set things in motion at atomic level 13.7 billion years ago to make all this happen.

Does man get created separately, or does life in general? That sort of thing.

I dunno; nor do I need to know. Not all questions in the universe have answers. While i'm not a YEC'er I do think God is the creator, but profess that our understanding of how that occurred is more than a bit imperfect. Was he the initiator of the Big Bang(?) and etc. All kinds of cool things that I await to find out the truth of after I die; but dont really matter in my day to day actions and belief.

You have to ignore much of biology, or any other hard science for that matter as Ziggy just pointed out, in order to rationalize any sort of evangelical interpretation of the Bible, much less a fundamentalist one.

No you dont. Or rather you dont if you truly dont see a limit to Gods power or imagination.

Ok, fairy nuff.

Lots of interesting things I don't really need to know, but I'm still curious about those things anyway :)

Well....so am I. But that doesnt mean I will ever know them; or even have to know them; or that even if there are indeed answers to them at all....

I think the operative word here is "imagination".

It is a shame that angels are apparently banned from contacting humans any more, or that God doesn't make himself publicly known except for the occasional earthquake, hurricane, or tornado to punish unbelievers and sinners.

It's also a shame how blithely you skip over two and a half thousand years of theistic philosophy. There really is more to than a bearded guy appearing a cloud- and that's not simply true whether or not you agree with it, recognising that fact is necessary to developing any really substantial critique of theism.

Indeed. That doesn't mean that at all.

To be clear, I have absolutely no issues with: Don't know (followed or not by: don't care). I'd prefer that over rationalisations and justifications laced with pseudo-science every time.

I don't "blithely" "skip over" it. Being a strong agnostic with a science background, I just ignore the miracles and other acts of "imagination". YMMV.

That's what I mean. You'll address god in his sky-wizard interpretation, but no more. Particularly baffling giving the moderation-fetish that leads you to this affection of calling yourself an "agnostic".

It all depends on the context. As I clearly pointed out above, mainstream Christians distanced themselves from the evangelists and fundamentalists long ago. That the latter really need to learn and understand a lot more about science and the roots of their own religious beliefs in order to understand why other sects no longer have the same beliefs. That merely rereading the same passages in the Bible will not provide the insight necessary to understand the differences.

Don't you think you should stop trying all these silly personal attacks while ignoring the basis for my comments?

I knew you wouldnt, which is why I answered honestly. :)

The 'I dunno' thing is rather a basic requirement in having faith to begin with.

Not quite the rampage and certainly not anything near as horrible as attacking innocent people violently, but this is still pretty screwed up and shows the lengths the left are willing to go to...

Lesbian Fakes Attack In Which She Carved Anti-Gay Slurs Into Skin

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A former University of Nebraska women’s basketball star faked an attack in which she allegedly carved anti-gay slurs into her skin because she felt it would spark change, police said Tuesday.

Four days before Charlie Rogers crawled naked and bleeding from her Lincoln home, screaming for help, she outlined in a Facebook posting what investigators believe was her motive for faking the July 22 attack, Police Chief Jim Peschong said at a news conference.

“So maybe I am too idealistic, but I believe way deep inside me that we can make things better for everyone. I will be a catalyst. I will do what it takes. I will. Watch me,” read the July 18 posting, according to police.

Furthermore, genetic testing on evidence gathered at the crime scene undermines Rogers’ account of what happened, Peschong said.

Crazies everywhere...

At least she hurt herself, not other people. But yeah, that's pretty insane.

Erm, thats not just an issue of "the Left"

"The left"?

I think you've just lost any moral high ground to complain when someone (wrongly or otherwise) equates some other crazy person with "the right".

In a thread tipified by posters claiming the OP is no where near what "the Right" does, it was clearly justified.

Your angst is misdirected. That our you didn't read the thread.

I think you and I differ on the use of the word 'justified' then.
