Light In The East: Civs Of The Orient(And Beyond)

"accidentally"

But yeah you're miles off. I'm pretty sure regalman deliberately picked this icon because he wants to see the mental gymnastics everybody is having to do to come up with anything viable. Evil, evil regalman.

What I was immediately drawn to was the Suebi, but they have a Civ. Therefore, it might actually be the slightly later Swabia, or possibly Alemannia. It's difficult to tell. That's my guess, anyway.
Really? His attire looks much more celtic than germanic, and there's no suebian knot in sight. And by later Swabia and Alemannia I doubt we'd see anyone fighting shirtless and with pijama-pants, no armor and wearing a Torc. :p

Also yeah, remember guys that light in the east is supposed to do eastern civs only. :rolleyes:

Light in the Orient: Civs of the Near East

For all the peeps claiming they know what it is. Could you please shoot me a PM and verify that so I can give you the testing version of the mod when it becomes available as well as a sneak peek on some more components. You can also get a free map request if you tell me correctly in one try what the second city and f this civilization 5 will be. Good luck :)

All I can say is that a history-nerd friend of mine said I made the guy dressed wrong, in the context of what the unit is meant to be.

I too have been missing the stream (cries). Have you streamed every day? I've been checking but with my inability to deal with timezone I have missed everyone (cries).
:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Jan streams at 6-8pm in the GMT+2 timezone, according to his signature. (Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me since IINM the entirety of Poland is within GMT+1)

We're in Summer Time mode, so clocks are being set 1 hour ahead. Technically GMT itself is GMT+1 until October, so Poland moves to GMT+2...

Not recently. I have a severe cold and don't feel too good. I hope I'll feel better after the weekend and regular schedule can come back.

So, Regalman said what the civ is. Now, what the unit is? :p I'm surprised no one thought about the background in the icon. Since it's nothing like Celtic buildings from northern Europe, I thought it would be a dead giveaway...

"Crying lightning".
Also, I'm gonna guess... That the civ is the Rurikid Dynasty. I know I'm wrong, but I couldn't come up with anything better...

Ah! A fun game. Well, its literally written all over the place what the civ is, but I assume the unit itself is a Varangian Mercenary or similar?

I'm guessing that the UA is a Galatian Mercenary, as per the old inscription found which stated: "Of the Galatians, we Thoas, Callistratos, Acannon and Apollonios, came, and a fox we caught here."

Second city of the Ptolemaic Kingdom? Tough one; I'm going with Hermopolis ;).
