Does anyone have any ideas for Akkadian UU?

F... for god sake people, you drive me made(LOL).
The Bowman from Babylon is a CLEAR reference to Sargon. Am I the only one realizing that?!
(Sargon introduced composite bows, its his thing)

Nathan, no. No more than the Khan is a reference to Bulgaria. Why would the Babylonian UU be a deliberate reference to Sargon of Akkad?

Fantastic! He's a man of many talents, that one; in AD, he's Kutik of Elam ;). Is this going to be the next civ that you produce?

In the Russian version, he was called "Akkadian bowman". Besides, as I said, he introduced the composite bow to the Akkadian army. It'd only make sense.
And my name is Natan. Nat-an. Not neiten, Nathan or whatever you call it. For god sake....
I should stop saying that

In the Russian version, he was called "Akkadian bowman".

It was called "Assyrian archers" ("Ассирийские лучники"). By the way, Russian translations of all Civ games are infamous for calling everything as translators want (CN Tower is translated as Ostankino Tower... really?!).

Natan, it's possible, but debatable that he did introduce the composite bow; the evidence isn't solid and it's thought by some scholars that the composite bow didn't come until a couple of hundred years later and that if Sargon had it, Akkad would have had more of a military advantage than it's decline back to a city-state would suggest. The battlecart wouldn't have had bowmen on it; it's not how they used it at that time.

Oh wow, seriously? Did they just hire Russian nationalists to translate? :p

Yes, and every leader is translated as "Futile Enemy Leader of Russa #" and City-States are known as "Defected-States of Glorious Russia."

Yet, its more accurate with Sargon the great then it is with Nebuchadnezzar.

It's actually a reference to the actual Babylonian Bowmen!

From the Civilopedia:

"We have a fairly accurate picture of the extraordinary Babylonian archer units, thanks to a beautiful Assyrian mosaic showing them marching off to battle. The Babylon archers are dressed in colorful padded robes and carry four-foot long bows, as well as a quiver of arrows slung on their backs. The archers also carry spears or daggers, doubtless for personal defense if enemy units get close enough for hand-to-hand combat.

Separate units carrying large, man-height shields would accompany the bowman, providing in effect, a movable fortress. The bowmen were an integral part of the Babylonian infantry, as their numbers were easier to train and replace than the more expensive cavalry. Bowmen also helped man the famed Walls of Babylon, taking up positions in the many turrets dotting its line."

Assyrian archers, my friend, assyrian archers...

Assyrian archers, my friend, assyrian archers...

Only the Russians did that, and I'm gonna have to quote TheLohoped here - the Russian translators are pretty much pulling the names out of their asses.

Indirectly I have....in the mod, I've given them a free victory stele in each city from the start of the game...perhaps that could be their UB and part of the UA is that it's free?

Akkad
Victory stele

Well, we need something with great generals. I had an Idea for an akkad civ when you could use great generals to repair all improvements in a city's territory.

I was going for something like Generals garrisoned in a city reduce occupied unhappiness and production penalties, as well as generating +2 Gold.

Em, not to sound flippant, but do you think it might be a good idea to make the leader Naram-Sin considering it's not at all that long since I released my own Akkadian mod led by Sargon, and there's already another two lower quality Akkadian mods led by Sargon.
