Hi all - I was trying to do some quick research into which civs and leaders appeared in which Civilization games and expansions. Although some wikis had individual games, there wasn't a single set collection.

So I made one. It's attached here, as an Excel file. Feel free to distribute or use on wikis! If you want to credit me, my real name is Rowan Kaiser. That would be cool.:goodjob:

Four notes: Civ2 had two leaders for each civilization, one male, one female, which made things a little weird (it's the only game with Amaterasu, Ishtari, or Henry VIII, for example).

Second, Sitting Bull and Maria Theresa are both leaders for differently named civs. MT is the female German leader in Civ2, and the Austrian leader in Gods & Kings. SB is Sioux in Civ2 and Native American in Civ4: BTS.

Third, I combined Vikings/Scandinavia/Denmark into just Vikings for convenience.

Fourth, in the Gods & Kings column I also included the DLC add-ons for Civ5. Likewise, I included the Warlords civs in the BTS column. Even though both are optional, I'm assuming that most Civ players who care are going to have as many add-ons as they can.

In case you were wondering, four leaders made it across all five games: Montezuma, Elizabeth I, Alexander and M Gandhi. Julius Caesar only missed Civ5, and Catherine the Great only missed Civ1.

You can also use this to make educated guesses at future additions to Civ5. Portugal and Zululand seem pretty likely.

Actually, the Montezuma in V is a different person from every other civ's Montezuma.

France is the only civilization that has made appearance in EVERY civ game it appears..

That's because the wikipedia list includes Colonization.
And that's again why this list here is better :D (also because it directly includes the leaders).

But might I suggest some reformatting? Mark the different titles in the sheet with a border, and mark presence/absence with red/green fillings. That might make the overview easier.

And :thumbusp: in general. I guess I might transform this into a forum compatible list at some point, so that we can add a "general civilization overview" somewhere here at the side :).

I never understood why they use Montezuma in the first place. Neither of the Montezumas was known to be a bloodthirsty warmongering megalomaniac who wanted to conquer the world. Especially Montezuma I, who was used in V. I can sort of get where they got that from with Monty II, but the first Monty was anything but the Hannibal Lecter with a feather headdress that we got in V...

Could be just nostalgia, people who play Civ for long long time, usually think of Monty as this crazy ruler who's just blood hungry, I mean, in Civ 5, Gandhi has a Nuke flavor of 12, the only one with such high number, and that's purely because of Civ 1 (from what i heard).

Ramkhamhaeng should get his * (like you did with Sitting Bull and Maria Theresa) in there because he is not representing Khmer in CiV but Siam. ;)

P.S. You also failed to meniton Darius of Persia under CiV.
P.S. #2 Harald Bluetooth represents Denmark not Vikings in CiV.

Didn't Vikings represent the whole area of Scandinavia in each Civ they were in (therefore Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland?)

They did, this needs an update.

Actually, the artwork for Civ2's Frederick depicts Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor, not Frederick II of Prussia as in other Civs. Not sure if this is intentional or a mistake.

Also, the table can be improved by notes about the fact that: "Nazca" and "Shakala" are completely made up, while Hippolyta and Amaterasu are strictly mythological.

You can also add the leaders from CivRev.
