This was a few days ago, so I don't remember the exact numbers involved, but I should ask anyway:
My first time transitioning from Exploration to Modern (and so far only time - I've been having too much fun playing around with different things in Antiquity and Exploration and keep restarting) was going from Abbasid to Mughal. I ended Exploration with Gold Per Turn somewhere around +400, I think, picked the Economic Golden Age that let me keep my cities, and started Modern at like -75 Gold Per Turn. I'm guessing that this was a combination of earlier-age gold buildings phasing out, specialists costing money to maintain, losing my Exploration-age policies, and having almost no towns to turn production into gold, but the massive swing there, particularly as Mughal, surprised me. Am I missing something there? Is the Economic Golden Age perk actually a trap for Modern Age economy (at least to begin?)
