Don't blame this on Firaxis, you chose to watch it for as long as you did. You chose to give into their scheme. As far as I'm concerned it makes them successful. Marketing is a form of art. And this is clearly working.

Are we talking about this? Yes
Are we intrigued about this? Yes
Do we want more of this? No, but we want to know more.

As far as anyone is concerned, whatever they are doing is Working. This is definition of good marketing strategy.

Ther'es a number of methods to generate interest and attention, and afaik it's not about them selling whatever they are advertising here or whatever, but getting our attention that something is coming that deserves a different strategy. They could've very well done this for the Switch.

And you gotta ask yourself this, WHAT kept you waiting? What kept your attention. Never in my life have I seen clouds be so damn interesting.

A lot of games do this kind of stuff especially, ARG were quite popular (Portal 2 for example). Whatever it is, it is generating interest.

Is it though? Just 5K people watching. I just gave up and now I just feel frustrated. Months of silence on a patch or the next DLC/Expansion and now what, more waiting?

True, but Kevin telling us he's taking the next two days off suggests that today is bigger than tomorrow. Otherwise, why come in at all today if he's already planning to take time off this week?

Isn't this way too early for a 2nd expansion? Rise & Fall isn't even a year old. I was expecting the 2nd expansion sometime in mid 2019. My guess was this was going to be a reveal for new DLC for another Civ (Please Carthage!), but it's going on so long that this would be a pretty big let down for people. Either way I think this type of 'stream' is in bad taste tbh. Just frustrating people at this point.
