UWLabs’s question is more about why one would ever not promise to do something. If you actually want to keep your promise - fine; if you are planning to keep your provoking actions - still promise to stop for that diplo favor, and just continue to break it. If breaking that promise only gives grievances, then who cares - favor wins the congress, not grievances.Grievance is a new mechanic introduced in GS that ties in to diplomacy. It essentially acts as a buffer for aggressive actions.
Say you ask an AI to not settle near you. The AI agrees (gaining some diplomatic favor if they do). If the AI then settles near you, you gain some grievance. You can then declare war and conquer that city, consuming that grievance. So you won't be viewed as a warmonger by anyone as you did something viewed as just in their eyes.
In your case, telling the AI that you are going to continue to proselytize will provide them with grievance against you. Watch out.
Eleanor hasn't been officially revealed yet, so they blurred her out.Err... what happened?!
... as one that has solar panels, which are currently covered in snow....but including a heating device to avoid frost would seem to be a simple matter and readily powered by the panels themselves.
Quill18 has released 4 videos so far of Canada gameplay. He's made it into the Renaissance. No sign of the Ice Hockey Rink.
So basically, don't build any Tundra cities before the late game unless there's a rich patch of strategic resources. At least by the late game Farms won't be terri-bad on Tundra.
Potato's second video his embarked warrior is surrounded by 3 barb Quadriremes and getting attacked. His warrior ended up getting killed, i've never seen the AI use barb units this way
Stuff like this is why I could never, ever be a live streamer
My sentiments exactly, it is a fun watch, the fact I watched all 3 indicates that. The trouble was by the third he was being repetitive and nothing new. I wanted to see some action, a bit of combat, a bit of diplomacy, Levy a CS or two as he had the money, it would have been better to levy a CS with two ships to do his exploring and been more interesting. His religion was like lets sit here and eventually be converted by hungary, it was great when he did convert one of their cities... and interesting but basically I watched 3 hours of settlers landing, exploring and fishing boats being deployed. I wanted to see a unit move to a Pa and be healed! A toa at least move into action... I wanted Hungary to attack him... just something.I enjoy Quill's streams despite the criticism here.
I really liked his fast play, I did not really care that he was playing bad... but he should have played more variety for a first play.He is playing worse than usual.
Greece is gonna love that. Thank you for watching. I am struggling. I tried to watch an Incan one but when they moved away from the mountains and river to settle on the tea I cried.Soooo double diplomatic favor earned per turn?
+100% tourism per improvement in this city, not for buildings or wonders. Seaside resort yields porn incoming?![]()
Google translate (+cleanup by me):
Land units can cross without embarking. Works like a modern road and creates [roads] (if necessary) on the land tiles on each side. Amenities +3 for the city. All the tiles of the city gain 4 points of appeal. Tourism + 100% for all the improvements/wonders/buildings (?) and national parks of the city.
Must be built on a coastal tile. The bridge must directly connect two land masses diametrically opposite to each other. At least one water tile must be present on each side of the bridge.
Leisure: +3 amenities
Quill plays on a large map and started 25ish tiles away from tundra. No ice hockey rink is pretty normal.
Having said thay, I love his map. Mountains, rivers, nearby coast, semi-isolated... pretty sweet even if it's useless for Canada.
