LizNES4: Our Ancestors Sins

I gave them a pretty sweet deal dude.

Your deal's no different than anything I could give to all those African factions (Oddly enough, considering how aggressive north american NPCs are..) sitting on their hands at the current time. "Hey, attack this country! His armies are diverted and it will be easy! You get to keep everything you take! If we do it all at once, he won't have a chance!"

Everyone who has a border with the ocean are bordering one another these days. You know that.

So you border India? Look you got outmaneuvered dude, diplomatically and militarily. Get over it. I seized the initiative and struck first, and I struck hard. It's what happens in war, I would have thought you of all people would know that.

My problem's not with you, Kara, I would have done the same thing, if I knew the NPCs were so easy to manipulate. NPCs are supposed to stay out of complex diplomacy like this because the mod knows too much about the plans of the players. I'm used to NPC diplomacy being handled on the thread, so there's nothing underhanded being done and no way the players can yell at the mod "Favoritism!" (At LEAST on turn 1! People are still picking countries, for god's sake!). I mean seriously.... You got handed command of two sovereign nation's armed forces just by saying "Hey! Let's go to war. You get that over there, I'll take this over here, and we'll be buddies afterwords". They respond "Sure! Here's my crown and scepter for at least a turn!" Would players be that easy? A couple perhaps, but I doubt it.

Don't get uppity with me 'till you strap on your big-boy pants and win one without the hand of god setting the stars in just the right alignment for you to pull one off. If these had been player-countries that attacked, I would have simply strapped on my warrior face and went to work on the business at hand. The mod also persuaded other player countries to not attack you, which makes it clear that the mod has designs for the Unified States (or maybe it's OOC?) and there's nothing that can be done about it (Muscovite invasion taking over europe in StJNES5, for example). Just sucks that it had to be me, and you get a notch out of it. When you really outmaneuver me, without the mod handing it to you, I'll put a little part in my sig "Only Karalysia has had the goods to beat me". I give you my word on that.

One last thing, yes, my ships and transports will reach India just the same as they'll reach Cuba. It just takes a little bit longer to reach.

That's the last I'm going to say on the matter, Karalysia. Thanks for butting in on a problem I had with the mod. I'm not sure he needed the help, but he should thank you nevertheless for flying in with the red cape and sweeping him from the danger that was me.

EDIT: most of mad rant removed

@Kozmos

He renamed Alaska the Federation of Columbia. Not Colombia. He is right next door to you.

As for this argument, I'm really surprised as anything. I've been in NESes in which the mod has been criticized for any number of things. In fact, the final 10 pages of INES II were of us yelling at one another about an update, that I to this day, think was stupid. But I've never heard anyone go out and say the mod was scheming with the other side. Let alone to crusade on the thread itself for two hours. Amon, this could have been done by message, AIM, or even by writing on my wall. I really don't have time for your paranoia, or your believed conspiracies against you. I handled the NPC's like they were real nations in the game. This is how I play them, and if you don't like it, that's fine. All had their wants, or their own thoughts, which is why the rest of the Americas didn't attack you. If you even read what little backstory I had, the attacks aren't beyond belief.

I could really just argue with you for the next several days on here, but their is really no point. If you don't like it, or feel that, because you are losing, I'm obviously scheming against you, then stop playing. Seriously. I don't feel like hearing you complain every update. I always listen to players when they have an issue, but I really have no time for someone that feels a need to go on the NES thread, and act like me and Kara specifically planned for you to lose. And that's it.

I'm sorry everyone else. If anyone really thinks I "favored" Kara, or whatever, I suppose that's your problem. PM me and yell, don't crusade on the forum. I've run two fairly large and extensive NES's thus far, and I've never honestly been accused of such a thing. I'm at the point now, however, that if Kara wins, I obviously support him/her. If Amon comes back, and wins, my support has obviously been thrown behind him. And that's ridiculous to me at best. So I'm honestly just at a loss for what I should do now.

For the rest of you, I suppose just ignore this. LoE, I rather enjoyed your story. Even though it was sort of caught between angry posts.

Oh....well that makes sense. Sort of. Mind language cock up. Kolumbija is how it sounds in my head and that is normal for my language which is another country. Still I'd like some answer on the tech level. And if I lost 3 divisions and bought 10 I should have 12 not 7.

We are pleased to see that another democracy has taken root in North America, a continent sorely in need of liberty and freedom after years of bloodshed and oppression by dictators. It is fitting that as your constitution is established that we bring an end to the last fascist state in the world, the so-called "Unified States"

As a testament to our friendship and the strong bonds between our nations we would be most pleased to enter into a formal alliance with you so that we may secure democracy and liberty together in North America.

1st. My mistake in the stats. I'll fix it.
2nd. It's modern tech.
3rd. I said initially that the Soviets didn't put up a much of a fight. I dunno. All together, I figured your out posts on the islands, considering it's proximity to Columbia and such, the total amount of soldiers and equiptment were ultimately a division. I said by the end of the campaign, you began putting up more resistance.

Nice story.. and flag. :P

And I forgot to mention that Orders are due this Saturday coming up.

Time line as portrayed in the Nueva California history class:

1997 - first case of the plague reordered in the western states of USA. 3 months later President declares martial law
1998 - As it became apparent that scientists were making no progress, massive riots began. Hundreds died in the panic.
1999 - General Gonzales’s troops under his command march into the government buildings of California and declared that as the government is not capable of dealing with the crisis, General Gonzales will now take command of the new kingdom of California. He was crowned in Sacramento to become King Daniel I.
2000 - The president attempts to take down King Daniel as the leader of traitors, and take back control of California. A firefight breaks out as the National guard crossed into California. This marked the beginning of the civil war.
2003 - US troops push King Gonzales to Los Angelos.
2004 - The siege of Los Angelos is broken when Western Naval Commander Hochstock defects from the US, saying that USA was incompetent and should be trying to deal with the plague rather than try to take back California. He was soon followed by the Western Air Force Commander List.
2010 - Kingdom of California reclaims all its lost land.
2013 - USA recognizes California’s independence, they could not afford to fight rebellions on both coasts.
2016 - King Daniel dies from the plague, which has been slowly loosening its grip on the western coast. Prince Robert takes the throne. Capital is moved to Los Angelos.
2021 - Massive rebellions all over California. King Robert is labeled a tyrant and an enemy of the people.
2027 - Storming of the Palace: the newly constructed palace, was burned to the ground. King Robert died in the fire. The leader of the mob, James Swing declares himself temporary leader of California, until he can organize a republic.
2028 - Swing selects the first High Council. The Constitution is written. Kingdom of California is renamed Nueva California.
2029- first elections are held. Swing is elected as Chairman.
2030 - 2046 - Reconstruction. The last case of the plague reported in California.
2047 - Nevada joins the republic.
2048 - brief conflict with US over Nevada. Small part of Arizona is added to Nueva California.
2053 - Mexico masses troops on California’s Southern boarder. They refused to stand down. California bombers followed by a swift land attack forced Mexico to surrender within 3 weeks, signing over Baja California to Nueva California.
2053-2150 - Nearly a century of peace and reconstruction.

OOC: I have a hypothetical question. If I win this war, and I wished to move my capitol back to London, would that cost any EP? Thanks.

IC:

A war was starting against England, so you wouldn't think the big new news was a novel being released. But it was. Author Mike E. Warfington, son of a soldier whom fought in the Great British Civil War, released the best seller The Fall of an Empire, a mideval fantasy about the decaying but still somewhat powerful island Snapir Empire, and the Ithnul Federation and Gathorn Imperium, two more recent and stronger empires.

In the backstory, the Ithnulians and the Snapirs were allied against the Gathorians, and the "Mexican Standoff" between the the two blocks turns into war. It drags on for 10 years, and heroes on both sides can not stop the deadlock. Eventually, the Snapir Empire collaspes, and turns to a bunch of warring city states. Inthul and Gathron make peace, with a third empire between them, the Tiyther Empire, forms. Eventually, Tiyther takes the oppertunity of invading the Snapir Islands, and takes the entire Eastern Coast, which included the old captiol. Peace is made after the invasion, with Tiyther taking its gains. The story itself then begins as the old reigme of Snapir tries to rally the city states against Tiyther, whom is showing signs of continuing the war.

The book is very popular in England, where the citizens relate Snapir to the old British government. Some citizens the book, which eventually has Snapir reunifying and repelling Tiyther from the island, is what will happen now. Some think it has no bearing on real life, and just is a good read. But by far, The Fall of an Empire is England's hottest selling book.

The Columbian-Chita peace treaty.
- The state of war shall be ended between Chita and Columbia.
- The Federation of Columbia gains administration over the currently held Aleutians.
- Chita keeps the remainder.
- The Federation of Columbia eliminates all claims on the Chits held Aleutians.
- Chita eliminates all claims on the newly gained Aleutians by Columbia.
