I don't know why, but never i was this undecisive in a SG about wether or not go to war. But finally i went to war (not sure about LKendters opinion about this), cause Swiss already had done the preparations and i know i'm often too cautious about it. Played 10 turns an eventfull turnset.
0 1160 AD Declare war on Hannibal. Grab a worker, go with stack for Utica and whip universie in Seoul.
1 Saladin discovers Liberalism ...Switch to Gunpowder. Hannibal sends only 2 knight, 1 longbow and a treb.
IB Saladin appears and i change his proposed deal into this one:
2 > Chemistry. Kill Hannibals stack at cost of a hwacha and a pike. Capture Utica:
IB My fears come true:
but i knew i could get help:
4 Roos wants Seattle back and sends a nasty stack to the poorly defended city (also no culture!)
Deals with Cathy, we get spices, corn and 8 gold from her (sold our marble, cancel this deal when we are ready to build HE!)
5 Really any human player would have captured Seattle first turn of the war, but Roos divides his stack incomprehensible and still can't capture it. Our SOD is healing in Utica.
6 I'm going to defend Seattle, it's now about 10 against 10. SOD is send towards Chartage. Every turn we kill a chartagian knight.
IB Ai ai Roos attack on Seattle does more damage than i hoped for, allthough we can kep it.
7 We got a Great General from the Seattle battle, he founds a military academie in Production city.
>>> Evacuate Seattle, chances of surviving are to little and of course the city is in fact of no importance to us at this stage of the game.
IB Roos takes Seattle.
8 Bombard Chartage
9 Bombard Chartage to zero defense. Reinforcing the area around Seoul with pikes to be able to defend against Roos' knights and War elephants.
Get Economics from Louis, and fur, next player can revolt to free market and vassalage, but both cost 2 turns of anarchie, i hoped for only 1 (epic speed)
IB Our copper in Seoul get pillaged by an american knight ....
10 1220 AD ....but our pike takes revenge.
Battle of Chartage: (it is defended by 3 longbows, 2 knights and a pike)
Treb (43%) beats longbow,
Treb (50%) dies to knight,
Treb (69%) retreats to knight,
Treb (87%) kills longbow,
rest is easy and....
Hannibal is willing to make peace (530 gold), he's clearly not a great warmonger, but we should first take at least the eastern part of his land, which has dye and gold. This means we only are able to defend against Roos, who's in a fight with Brennus to.
