1350AD(0) Sigh, there is no way we can research with our own funds anything other than 40 turn
research.
Since we have a big production surplus in Beijing, I put up a lone scientist on research duty,
just in case our two adversaries now stop doing any research what so ever during their stay in
communism.
This will cost us 2 gpt. I also clear out the jungle next to our mountain, in order to have a clear field of fire should it be needed.
IBT: Arabs have crazy production. NO less than five new cavs storm to the front. A settler/spear pair heads towards our Saltpeter colony.
1355AD(1) I gamble the settlers will settle on the ivory, thus letting us keep our Saltpeter until we go to war with Arabia. I move up three cavs while we have rail movement. Their job will be to get us the razings that would put Arabia at the peace table.
IBT: arabia wants to renew peace. I will go along, so as not to break the existing deals.
I see Greece get a defesive leader in a battle against a Cav. We now have some seven Arabian Cav
and an arabian cavalry army inside our borders.
ARabia Settle a city close to our Saltpeter colony.
Shanghai get Colosseum. I set it to produce Cannon. We will need a few in order to defend ourselves.
1360AD(2) I buy Arabs territory map. See Damascus is down to size 5. This is good, neh ?
IBT: Greece and Arabia Signs peace. sigh. And it is one more turn of our deals with Arabia.
Couldn't they have warred a short while longer. Now Arabs Cavalry will not be exposed in our lands. This will make our job that much harder.
1365AD(3) MOvement.
Position troops for a quick surgical strike at Damascus. Will retreat them as soon as I can afterwards, in order to be able to use the troops for defense. STart a trade with Greece of Incense for 2 gpt. ( for some sort of incentive so that arabs doesn't involve greece in the little brush war about to start. )
IBT: arabs and Greece start Suffrage. Greek leader enters Marathon.
1370AD(4) This is the picture as we start.
I demand Arabs leave our territory, and he complies ?? New tactical situation arrives.
I will try to keep my forces away from his. I declare war, and then check if Alexander is willing to go another round. Alex is willing, provided we give him coal. Since we already have most of the rails we need, I comply, and the world erupts in war once again.
So, the question is, would it be better to destroy nearby forces, or try to strike deep while we have forces enough to do it. I will try to do both

We have three cannon. They are used to good effect against the arab elite cav healing in the jungle. Elite rider fails to spawn leader, but he kills ARab without taking harm.
OUr expeditionary force away with our Saltpeter destroys Kufah. ONe of our Cav redlines doing it, but otherwise no losses.
For some reason Damascus is defended by an elite Rifleman.
With some trepidation I press Next turn. Arabia has three cav I know about, as well as a cavalry army.
In Arab counterattacks we go 2/5, meaning we lose two cavs, and arabs lose 5 cavs attacking our Cavalry on the mountain. Greece starts movement of three cavs and a cavalry army towards the front. We grant them a RoP so that they easier can get to the killing fields.
1375AD(5) Damascus is now size 4. I do not think I can take them out with my wounded forces. I do it anyway, since we would not be able to withdraw unless Arabian borders were diminished.
Damsacus is razed after losing two cavs, defeating two elite riflemen and a cavalry. Better to be lucky than good someone once said

Since we now have a railnet all the way back to Beijing, our wounded forces are withdrawn for healing. I discover it takes 25 workers to build a fortress in the jungle in one turn.
Once again I am a bit nervous about pressing return.
Greece capture an arabian city, Arabs destroy our wines colony. We get polution by Beijing. No arabs enter our lands. Maybe they are off fighting the Greece who used our RoP to their advantage. To bad I didn't think of a RoP the first turn. Persia takes Aleppo, but loses Tabuk to counterattack. Both battles were outside my viewpoint.
1380AD(6) Nab a settler/rifle pair with the help of our cannon and a veteran Cav that goes elite.
NOtice that all three of Arabias horses are exposed to pillaging. I move my forces into position to pillage next turn.
IBT: Ack, Greece has to have run out of steam as arab cavs target our pillagers. Our Conscript rifleman is killed after retreating one attacking cav. For some reason he wasn't promoted. I thought conscripts alway got promoted after winning a battle. Our other pillager redlines but survives. I will see what I can do about the horse our conscript was supposed to raze.
1385AD(7) Switch Shanghai to Riflemen as we now have six cannon. I think this will be enough for a short while. We will need some defenders.
I make a save here. This is the official save if I am not allowed to go to war mobilization.
I decide to raze Shihr in order to help with our damaged horse pillagers up north.
And just as I goto war mobilization, a leader appears. WOnder what to do with him. We can produce everything in one turn, and we cannot build any armies. I will save him for a peacetime hospital. Before pressing return I look over the battlefield. I note that Arabias single coal is on a hill right on the road to Medina, Arabies city containing Bachs Cathedral. This looks like a good opportunity. Will see how severe Arab counterattacks are this turn though. I may not have enough troops to pull it off. I would want some 10-12 cavalry in order to survive on the hill, and after that the retreat. I have pillaged two horses, and I have pillaged to road to the southeastern peninsula where ARabias third horse is. SInce they do not have a harbour out there, they ought not to be able to build any more cavalry now.
IBT: I see three Greek Cavalry and two riflemen hurry to the front, and see an Arab Cavalry reposition itself, but not a single counterattack anywhere.
1390AD(8) Ack, I see Arabia has three coals connected. Didn't count on the coal on their small
island. At least they do not have any horses there.
Heh, my retreating Riders see some arabian workers out in the open without guards. Wonder what
happened here. I make use of the lull in the fighting to regroup and heal.
IBT: We lose a rifleman to the counterattacks of one cav that retreats, one Longbow ?? and one
cav that defeats our heroes.
1395AD(9) NOtice Tabuk has gotten razed sometimes in the last two turns. I should pay more
attention. This turn our wounded troops do some well earned Rest and Relaxation. I also notice I
cannot see any harbours in Arabian cities on our mainland. This would tend to mean they have only
one source of coal. I am thinking it would be a high priority to pillage that source. Since it
lies on a hill that is halfway to Medina, and an excellent halfway point if one want to strike at
that city, I strongly recommend to the next leader that this is next goal. I will not commit our
entire force of Cavalry on my last turn though.
IBT: ??????

NOthing happens whatsoever except we build another cav and rifleman. Weird. I am thinking there are some heavy battles near the greek city of Aleppo. HOwever I saw no Greek forces advancing through our territory.
1400AD(10) NOtice we could rush Suffrage with our leader, even though we are at wartime mobilization. I recommend next leader to do this, if for nothing else, then for denial purposes.
Sorry about this

. SHould have rushed this wonder at once. DIdn't know you could build wonders during mobilization. Didn't even think we had the tech for a wonder. NO one has medicine yet.
Arrg, notepad does weird things to linebreaks. Sorry about the bad formatting of the text. WIll use vi next time.
Here there be a
save
