Long Distance Relationships

What I meant with the language thing is that if she was to move to Israel, she'd have to learn Hebrew, but as you're moving and already speak English, it's not a problem.

At the time before children, I was the one who moved to another country.

Australian citizenship and residency requirements are fairly stringent. I didn't quite realize how easy I had it (as a Kiwi) before I started comparing war stories with other people. If your up to the interview your in the home stretch. At a guess you had an in demand skill or you would be even more critical of the system :p

Good luck.

@Mathilda

Its mandatory to learn Australian to be taken seriously by a great many people... :p

didnt even think of that.

i guess it never entered our thoughts to live in Israel.

i do IT work, but applying for the "prospective marriage visa"
much quicker.
i did try for the "skilled migrant visa", just to avoid the "he is marrying her just for the visa" thoughts.
im still waiting to get certified as a skilled IT proffesional, so i can APPLY for the bleedin' visa.
if i were to take that road, id be looking at 18 months-2 years.
NOT an option for me and the lady.

My aunt was English and moved to Australia to marry my uncle. IIRC, the whole 'you are marrying for the visa' thing was the only obstacle, which just required a couple of interviews. But if you have a reasonable amount of cash, and coming from a developed society, the aforementioned argument doesn't really stick (you are not escaping poverty (how dare we help those people)), so it shouldn't be too hard.
