Nice to join this forum.Strategies and tactics of Civ4 have been developed in China in recent years. Our "chief" named "I am also a big mushroom"(It's his ID in the forum Baidu Tieba) is a crazy and excellent player. He likes using only 4 chariots to destroy AI’s cottages, halmets, villages even towns while playing on deity, and usually wins at last. So we call him "chief" of "Loot cult". Have you ever heard of this crazy tactic?

In China, we call an AI like Hatshepsut and Pericles "mushroom", who tends to develop their science or build wonders. But the chief enjoys wars. He calls himself "mushroom" but the word only expresses an opposite meaning. Maybe this mushroom is "poisonous"←_←.

Welcome to CFC!

Our greatest strategist is without doubt Attacko. His tactics and strategies transcend difficulty levels and are best understood through the use of Venn diagrams.
He is (unsurprisingly) well familiar with the chariot strategy you brought up -- only further validating its strength: Attacko's Four Chariot Defense

The evidence is clear.

Nice to see you! In our forum, standard pangaea at normal speed in deity difficulty is the most popular. And our most popular tactic is starting war in classical time with quantities of elephants and catapults. We think highly of slavery, because it provide so many hammers in classical time so that we can built dozens of soldiers quickly to start a classic war. What about the main opinion in CFC?I’m interested.

Of course, you must take Attacko's strategies with a pinch of salt. His amphibious Elephant strategy is a classic.

If you are asking about the opinion on slavery, I'd say it has long been proven to be the most powerful feature of the game. So yeah, it is thought of quite highly here by most. Elepults are a good break out unit combo on most levels if you have access to ivory.

If you really want to talk strategies, the S&T forum is a great place to do so. A lot more going on over there, and some Deity players as well:

Speaking of Chariots, a 3-move super medic is nice to have for pillaging purposes. Move to cottage (out from stack) -> Pillage -> Move back.

Of course, this will completely change the flow of war, and break the economy of the AI :p But it is nice.
