(0) 1300 - Disband a couple catapults and a warrior, who are serving no purpose at all. Look around, because it's been a while since I've played. Things look pretty good. We could use another dozen infantry, but... Raise sci rate to 50%, running a deficit but will get Sci Method earlier.
(I) Koreans kill a couple muskets and capture some workers.
(1) 1305 - What's with all the fortified units? Fortified workers outside of cities when we still have jungle to clear (no sanitation, so we can still get hit by disease), irrigation to mine (Mugla, in particular, is swimming in food with no mines to speak of), cities to build up, etc. And sipahi sleeping in cities? I want them all at the front. Casualties = gpt and success means fewer Koreans to worry about.
I also go ahead and use our leader to hurry a factory. I think we'll get another to help with Hoover. Even if we don't, we should have enough of a lead to build it by hand. I *hate* missing opportunities for leaders, simply because we didn't use one we had on hand. So, we're currently leaderless.
WW takes a MAJOR jump this turn. I have to raise luxes all the way to 30% (lowering science to 30%) to compensate. This prevents having entertainers in EVERY SINGLE city. Hopefully Korea will cooperate and die soon. If they come begging for peace, I may listen. Or I may not. Makes Sci Method not due for 10 turns. Bummer. I was hoping to ToE on my turns.
(2) 1310 - Nam'po had 6 rifles defending it, so we lost a fair few Sipahi, but we finally razed the city. I was hoping it would open up a few more locations for our artillery to shell, but that was not the case. I guess a combat settler is required.
(3) 1315 - Setting up for next assault(s). Workers act. Many join towns. Miami is on settler every turn, with two worker joins to keep it up to size. We've tons of English and American slaves who don't worry about flips. Using a few of our expensive workers for joins isn't a bad plan, either. Korean slaves will be next, once their puny civ is eliminated.
(I) An ironclad I didn't realize we had by Leeds is nearly destroyed. Mongols start bombing us in earnest.
(4) 1320 - Bombardment gets Pyongsang under 12 pop, so we send in the sipahi. Casualties are not light, but we raze the city anyway. Wasn't too bad as a number of sipahi retreated to fight again another day. We actually have enough spare Sipahi that I go ahead and raze Wonsan, too. Why let sipahi rest idle? It was also less than metropolis size. We now have way too many Korean slaves. But that's a good thing!
(I) Year of pollution as about 6 different cities are affected. What a bummer. Messes up some of my carefully planned build times. Oh well.
(5) 1325 - 9 sipahi are just enough to raze Chengdu from its hilltop location. A cavalry in the city killed 2 sipahi before succumbing.
Darn Mongol ironclads off the west coast are keeping me from shipping troops to take Inch'on. I've been trying to organize a sortie towards Poitiers, too, but our navy is still sometime between pathetic and non-existent.
19 cannons are disbanded into cities, as a way of cash-rushing things. We don't have money to upgrade them and a range of one is just too small to be useful. Saves us 19 gpt, too, which ain't something to sneeze at. Helps along some cultural buildings and some aqueducts. Also had a rare turn with more worker activities than workers.
(6) 1330 - Positioning troops. Sending artillery to try to scare off Mongol ironclads. We're woefully unprepared to fight on the seas, but the bombardment of land improvements doesn't even keep our workers gainfully employed.
(I) Mongols actually land troops. It's a longbow and 4 cavalry. Our sipahi will yawn and eat them up.
(7) 1335 - Ulsan is the last Korean city on our continent. I capture it, as it's close enough to New York to be useful and it may have a number of very nice buildings. Even if it flips, we'll be able to recapture it easily enough.
1340 I - Ulsan flips. Inch'on had a bunch of attacking guerillas who took out my infantry cover and one sipahi. I'm NOT gonna capture it on my turns.
1345 - Mongols land on old English Isle. Our horseman army gets the final two kills - a keshik and a longbow. The keshik almost killed it, though. ToE next turn. NO leaders for Hoover, though.
(I) ToE finishes and we're ready to Hoover. I start us on the Corporation, which is cheaper than Sanitation and potentially more useful, as we're a bit packed to make the most use of hospitals.
1350 - New York will complete Hoover in 15 turns, which is faster than any AI can research to our level. I have very little hope of a Great Leader at this point. Korea's almost gone and I've killed our elites fishing. I had about 20 elite victories, but....
I have to raze Ulsan this time as it's been drafted 4 times by the Koreans. That's way too much unhappiness to deal with. I've got a spare settler around, so it won't be a problem.
1355 - I had to finish off the Koreans. I do so, getting a GL in the process! He's in the boat just off-shore. He can't quite unload this turn, but he can rush Hoover next turn. You might want to switch New York to something more useful and rush Hoover elsewhere. Luxes down to 0% and science up to 50% and we're rocking and rolling.
I left worker stacks fortified all over. We have so many slaves and so few jobs for them. Koreans are now safe to add to cities, too, so feel free to do so. It's a good way to get settlers if we need them.
Poitiers needs MM and should be HUGELY reinforced ASAP. It will bear a big brunt when we go to war with France (which maybe should be soon???).
Sorry about going a half-turn over. I basically just moved enough to eliminate Korea. I couldn't leave it undone. And I laughed out loud when I saw the leader appear with my last elite attack, which finished off the Koreans. Like I said, he can land next turn and rush Hoover.
We're very well-situated at this point. We can play research catch-up behind the AI civs across the top of the tree and be nicely positioned for all kinds of goodies.

Sorry for the ramblings at the end. Family's here and I'm feeling rushed, but I
HAD to finish off Korea.
