ls612's C2C Units

I am not happy that the civilian units require military buildings to build. In particular the Guard and City Guard. Perhaps the Guard should require Town Watch or Town Patrol and the City Guard should require Town Patrol.

@Hydro:

So if I'm understanding your proposal the only thing that would really change would be the Trebuchet line, which would have to be deployed. Can we do that with the current XML? If we can't do that then there would need to be new AI for it, which I can't do (I could make the deploy mechanic itself). So if there was no AI for it I'd be against it being implemented.

Other than that it seems that your suggestions are pretty similar for the other three unit lines to what we currently have.

1. Yes it would be changes mostly to the Trebuchet line and we would have to develop a new mechanic to make it work. I have seen something similar done in the RoH mod where a Nomad turned into a nomad camp and then back into a Nomad unit again. If we are doing something like that for the Nomad mod then we could apply the mechanic to heavy siege weapons like the Trebuchet and Mortar units that pack and unpack.

2. Yeah. Thats what I was trying to do. To fit in with what we already have. They would be more or less a unit between the units so there is a unit for Classical Era, Medieval Era and Renaissance Era rather than just Classical and Renaissance.

Sounds reasonable now that we have more of those types of buildings.

1. OK, but it would need AI, which I can't do well. So I won't be making that mechanic for a while.

2. OK, sounds good.

3. Added that to my list.

I believe the so called "Hunter" should look either like "Davy Crockett" or "England/Germany's explorer" made by avain. And the Big Game Hunter should look like the current Hunter, or via vera???

I think you mean "Game Hunter". The "Hunter" would be much too early for a unit with a firearm.

As I said in an earlier post ...

@strategyonly

Which head's it use? The Pit Helmet or the Cowboy Hat? Honestly if it had the pit Helmet it might be a good graphic for the Big Game Hunter. Since many of the hunters share the same graphic.

Graphic #1 = Tracker, Ranger, Big Game Hunter
Graphic #2 = Hunter, Game Hunter

it would be nice if we had a unique graphic for each. Such as ...

Tracker = Something new
Hunter = Something new
Ranger = Graphic #1
Game Hunter = Graphic #2
Big Game Hunter = The graphic you just showed.

In other words ...

- Tracker = NEW
- Hunter = NEW
- Ranger = Stays the Same
- Warden = Stays the Same
- Game Hunter = Stays the Same
- Big Game Hunter = The graphic you proposed for the Park Ranger.

However we could put the Davy Crockett in the "Game Hunter" spot and then keep the "Hunter" the same (since both the Hunter and Game Hunter use the same graphic).

I just dont like the Big Game Hunter being that same ole scout is all.

Well you should probably tell me 'cause I still "control" the graphics for all these units. I did down load the art you posted but have not gotten to look at it yet.

I just want a so called better " looking" BIG Game Hunter is all, i believe the hunter in the brown suit is a higher level hunter is all, just looks better, and sorry:blush: its hard keeping up, just like me, who did what unit nowadays. . . SO Thats why i am so protective also about the Ambusher, Thief, Rogue, Assassin, Sharpshooter, etc line . . .

I like the early Hunters like they are now. I would not mind though the Davy Crockett model as the Game Hunter. As for the Big Game Hunter, I'd like to change that but the graphic you suggested for it is as you said currently used for the Park Ranger and so I'd be against reusing it. Could you not try just reskinning the Park Ranger? That should make it look different while keeping the anims working.

Haven't looked at the Park Ranger yet, will take a gander.

@ls612

I used a different model than strategyonly proposed for the Park Ranger.

EDIT: Here is the new proposed model for the Big Game Hunter.

Note it would use the same button/icon it already has.

Done now, along with the Guard tweaks and the three new Culture Units. I'll add the Moai to the buildable list for the new worker once it is in as an improvement.

OK Big Game Hunter looks waaay better now, now for that wolf (needs to be a dog, i think?)

Wrong area, but remind me again how do i get Ammo? I have Rifling and even Steam Power, but cant upgrade??

Do we have any artwork for a Medieval era Scout? I think we need something for the Explorer to upgrade to other than the Adventurer, because cities without a Horse Trainer can't train Adventurer, and therefore cities without Horse Trainer have Explorer show up until Motorcycle appears.

Also, who is responsible for the Cree Tracker? I think it needs a Force Obsolete or the ability to upgrade to a unit that doesn't require Master Hunter. Otherwise, it's going to appear on the build lists for cities without a Master Hunter until the end of the game.

1. I don't know.

2. I am in charge of that, I can force obsolete it tomorrow.

And your idea of a scout should look like (What Country/area of preference?) I have like 50 scouts.

Actually, the Explorer is the medieval art. If we have any other Ancient scouts (and I'm not too picky about the appearance), I think we should put in a new unit using that artwork and then move the Explorer back to the Medieval Era. I've always thought that 8-Strength Explorers were very powerful for the Ancient Era and are better stack guards than any unit at that era should be.
