I noticed the Light Tank (60), Tank (50) and Heavy Tank M26 (60) all come at the same time.

I think the Light Tank's strength should be reduced to 40 and Heavy Tank M26 should be renamed to just "Heavy Tank".

As you can see he left a lot blank so I am unsure what to have for a Recon Plane. Probably use the Hypersonic Recon Plane as a base. And then scale its range back along with mabye the unit type.

2. Who added these planes anyways? Their modular structure is a complete and utter mess! I've had to make UNITCLASS_MODERN_FIGHTER the Stealth Fighter, and UNITCLASS_JET_FIGHTER the Modern Fighter in order to accomadate your changes, and I'm still not sure that I did it right. Please tell me what else I've missed, as I'm pretty sure this will take multiple passes to get somewhat right.

1. I sent a PM to DH to ask if we have permission to edit the airship and possibly other balloon units in the future.

2. The aircraft were added I think by a colaboration with mcookie83 and DH.

The other issue with them is the icon/buttons don't have the correct alpha layer so they appear as hard corner squares rather than rounded squares like all the other icon/buttons do.

As for other problems I am slowly going through the outline that intlidave made. To help better balance them. Step 1 was re-naming. Step 2 was fixing the upgrade paths and step 3 will be fixing the other stats to balance things. Because if you notice the new aircraft compared to the old aircraft are totally unbalanced from each other.

However I am not copying everything from intlidave's ideas, which is why I am posting here rather than just having you do stuff directly from his ideas. I would say around 80% of his stuff are worth changing.

Anywho thanks your work so far. This kind of stuff needs to be worked out before we do more future units or Thunderbrd adds in more combat mod stuff to those units.

I can put the balloon units into the core if you like. It is probably about time they went there.

BTW have you fixed the Ornithopter yet? It can't be based in a city:crazyeye:.

I wonder then if thats what might be causing my CTD in the game i have, because a "rebel civ" has them and i see them "outside" the city limits??

To keep consistent with the other aircraft some need :gold: per turn. Apparently whomever put in the new aircraft forgot to do that. So while we are editing I think we should make them increase in cost by tech level.

I have to wonder about this. In GlobalDefines.xml there is a value CITY_AIR_UNIT_CAPACITY which is set to 8. This ought to be the base capacity for air units in a city.

Except, perhaps, that the CvCity::clearModifierTotals() function sets it to 0 instead of the value that the main initialization sets it to (i.e. in CvCity::init it does a changeAirUnitCapacity(GC.getDefineINT("CITY_AIR_UNIT_CAPACITY"));)...

Sounds like a bug.

In the Bugs/Crashes thread Koshling said that some of the recent CTDs are related to the Brigantine art. I looked at it and it seems that it is most likely a bad button. Could you please make a new button for the Brigantine? Thanks. :goodjob:

Also, I'm going to be adding the airplane cost tweaks (your numbers were a bit low, I'll up them) and the Cannon tweaks to the SVN. Regarding the Airplane Upgrade Chains, It is such a mess that could you please make a table giving their unit tag (UNIT_SOMETHING), their new name, and what they upgrade to? That way I won't have to spend six hours fixing this, I can't make heads or tails of what goes where. Also there are some duplicates in the modular and core code, so DH might want to look at those.
