@ls612
Ok returning to intlidave's suggestions involving Naval units.
War Canoe
- Remove Transport Ability
War Galley
- Remove Transport Ability
I'll remove the possibility of Goody Islands giving units to match this.
Also have you reduced the new canoe sizes?
Could they give a Canoe, War Canoe, Kayak or Work Boat (Ancient) instead of land Units?
It may be possible but it will be awkward especially when the discovery currently returns a unit that matches one in the boat doing the discovery. All I can do is find the unit type given and replace it with the new unit. The problem is that if I find one that was on board a boat before the one that was given then I will convert that one and the given one will not be on the boat and may get left behind.
So you want warrior types to give a war canoe, scouts to give a kayak, worker types to give a work boat. What about settler types should I give a canoe so they can board it or what.
What happened here?? The Trireme looks like an empty canoe??

I have no idea, it looks right to me in the XML.
nvrmnd i was playing as Lower Sioux.
You should change it to a mesoamerican-like trireme. That way people will not get it confused with a canoe.
Mesoamerican is not South American.
According to this: http://gomexico.about.com/od/ancientsites/g/mesoamerica.htm its everything from Central Mexico south??
Canoes are defiantly not equivalent to a Trireme. Even a very large one.
