ls612's C2C Units

@ls612

Ok returning to intlidave's suggestions involving Naval units.

War Canoe
- Remove Transport Ability

War Galley
- Remove Transport Ability

I'll remove the possibility of Goody Islands giving units to match this.

Also have you reduced the new canoe sizes?

Could they give a Canoe, War Canoe, Kayak or Work Boat (Ancient) instead of land Units?

It may be possible but it will be awkward especially when the discovery currently returns a unit that matches one in the boat doing the discovery. All I can do is find the unit type given and replace it with the new unit. The problem is that if I find one that was on board a boat before the one that was given then I will convert that one and the given one will not be on the boat and may get left behind.

So you want warrior types to give a war canoe, scouts to give a kayak, worker types to give a work boat. What about settler types should I give a canoe so they can board it or what.

Thanks SO. And I completely agree about early general units. We have them pretty much all filled in from Prehistoric to Renaissance. There is always room for tweaking what we have but I a more or less happy with the early eras. Modern and after could use some more units. Especially when we get to the Galactic Era and add things like Spaceships.

In short that's for giving the OK for culture units.

Yeah ...

- Warrior = War Canoe
- Scout = Kayak
- Worker = Work Boat (Ancient)
- Settler = Canoe

@ls612

Found some stuff that was still not changed with the Naval units ...

Sloop of War (UNIT_SLOOP_OF_WAR)
Upgrade to: UNIT_SHIP_OF_THE_LINE

Man O War (UNIT_MANOWAR)
- Rename to "Ship of the Line"
- Upgrades to Pre-Dreadnought (not Early Destroyer)

Ship of the Line (UNIT_SHIP_OF_THE_LINE)
- Rename to "Man of War"

Early Destroyer (UNIT_STEAM_DESTROYER)
- Rename "Advanced Ironclad"

The following Wooden ships should Build 20% Faster with Prime Timber resource.

- Raft
- Canoe
- Kayak
- War Canoe
- War Galley
- Dromon
- Siege Quinquereme
- Fluyt
- Sloop
- Sloop of War
- Carrack
- Ship of the Line

Many thanks in advance! :goodjob:

@Hydro:

I did switch the TXT tags for the Ship of the Line and Man O war, so they should be renamed already. Other than that, I've done those things now, and will hopefully get the next two Culture Units in this afternoon if I'm feeling better.

What happened here?? The Trireme looks like an empty canoe??

I have no idea, it looks right to me in the XML.

nvrmnd i was playing as Lower Sioux.

@Hydro/ls612:

Anyways, since i got the HeroicII working correctly now, i need you to go into the Warlord Chief and "exclude" him from getting this promotion, as he seems for some darn reason, everytime he fights he gets the 5%, which is quite disambiguate. Or find out a way to get it to work with it, your choice??

You should change it to a mesoamerican-like trireme. That way people will not get it confused with a canoe.

Sorry cant do that, since they have nothing to do with S American culture.

According to this: http://gomexico.about.com/od/ancientsites/g/mesoamerica.htm its everything from Central Mexico south??

Yes mesomaerican means "Central American". Past Panama is South American. Incan is not mesomerican. Aztec and Mayan are however. Lower Sioux if they had ships (I believe they were landlocked) would probably have something more like Mesoamerican than South American. However being north American who knows. Canoes are defiantly not equivalent to a Trireme. Even a very large one.

Why not the Haida canoe found in this civ?
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=151336

Some canoes did carry larger loads, but I would not really call them you ordinary canoe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribal_Journeys

But anyway they were used up till contact because they used until white settlers arrived, and they did cross large coastal areas. My only suggestion would to make a bigger Trireme canoe and smaller canoe from the same art to represent a difference in canoe sizes by scaling them in the xml. But if you guys are set, I am not here to interrupt in the conversion.

Nevermind. Sorry, I see that the art is not so great for it.

Now I know a unit I want to try and make.
