Mad Scientist's RPC summary

I have restarted the Russian Spy RPC after our disasterous game. I adjusted the rules as far as the espionage slider to play a better game so we do not tank our technology.

If we fail again, I will stop this RPC for a while and move on until I can get a better handle on an EE game.

The next game after the Russian Spy will be either Shaka a Man of Culture or Persians in space as I know how to run those styles of play. The Roman OCC will have to wait.

how long does it take you to complete a marathon space race game? I was going to shadow your next Persians in space, as I usually start falling behind mid-game. I've been learning a lot from your RPC games. Very informative!

Depends more on war than teching. If we have peace or quick wars I can get it done in a few days. If I end up with some modern warfare and naval/airforce fighting figure a week. Generally I run an off-line game at the same time so that may extend it a bit.

OK, after our two loses at Espionage with Peter, we are retiring our nobel Russian Spy. He may show up again in a modified RPC, teching normally but emphasis on Great Spies for Infiltration missions and corps but no limit on empire size. I'll have to rethink some RPC limits to it though.

Onto the next RPC:

Persians in Space, using a strict Cottage Economy (CE). We will use Cyrus as he has no advantages in his trait for this aside from early settler production and extra happiness. He is good at war and should allow us to dominate our continent, but the war machine shuts down there. No intercontinental cities are permitted.

After that, Shaka A man of Culture is next. I am open for suggestions after those 2!

I like the idea of the OCC with Augustus Ceasar, but take it one step further and call it "The Godfather" and see if you can get the entire world to bend their knee, kiss your ring and call you "Don Madscientist"? I guess that's either a Diplomatic victory or conquest via Capitulation (which would probably end up be Domination, maybe not.)

A few other Ideas I have for a game is as follows,They are military orientated as a thankyou to those who follow my RPCs (since from the poll most favor bloodshed over peace, hell I do more often than not).

A) Inspired by ABigCivFans war-mongering threads.

Asoka is one of the best war-mongers who starts with no military orientated traits. He also starts with mysticism and is spiritual.

So my visions for the game is a Pangea map with 6 of the biggest meanest was-mongers in the game. Any victory is open, the challeneg (besides survival)

1) Asoka must attempt an early religion, get it, adopt it, and stick with it.
2) He must eventually convert all the heathens to that religion. He cannot declare war on fellow members of the faith and HAS to join them in their wars even if not asked.
3) Any victory is open but only after all AIs have either converted to his religion, adopted free religion, or perished!

Looking for good leaders for this BUT they cannot start with Mysticism (to asue Asoka getting Hinduism).

Shaka
Julius
Napolean
CAtherine
Ghengis
Ragnar

B) Boudica the Amazon Queen: An exact mirror game of the Washington game, without the chivalry. Pangea Map

Basically Bouduca wants a good man and is insanely jealous of other women. The game has 4 other woman, and 2 guys of which Boudica must take one as a vassal and kill the other (Black widow game). Game ends when her and her man are the only ones standing!! No vassaled women.

Witches

Isabella
Catherine
Elizabeth
Hatshepsut

Guys

Gandhi
Louis

All's fair in love and war and she can attack and kill who she pleases, with the exception of the vassal. All civics, religions, deals ar epermitted. She must have a male vassal and win only via domination or conquest.

Asoka is the buddhist founder, so historicaly accurate will be, if he founds buddhism.

OK, good point and if Asoka is the only leader that starts with mysticism it makes snese for him to hit meditation first. I am not sure he founded it, but he greatly promoted it during his lifetime.

If you wanted to do an isolated start with Tokugawa then you could see if r rolo1 would do you a map - in fact he already did a lonely hearts with Tokugawa.

Updated with the result from Gentleman Shaka.

I may or may not try another Gentleman Shaka game (the first was a blast even though we lost).

The next RPC will be Asoka and the doomsday Machine.

Idea: Asoka is on a PAngea map with 6 of the baddest, most agressive moron/back-stabbers/war-mongers in the game who do not start with mysticism (sorry, no Monty or Boudica). He must found and adopt Buddhism, must convert all AIs to that religon (or FR) by the end of the game to win via AP, UN, domination. Once he found Buddhism the gods grant him the ultimate weapon, a modern armor tank which can only be used within his cultural borders.

idea for rules:

1) Asoka must always have Buddhism as the state religion.
2) He must try and convert all AIs to his religion. If they adopt FR that's OK.
3) He cannot declare war on a Buddhist leader.
4) He must defend a Buddhist leader who is attacked (similar to the Washington/lady game).
5) The modern armor must be used within cultural borders only!!! Someone must be willing to take the save and enter it via world builder (and not spoil the game with clues).

Thugs I am considering

Shaka
Ragnar
Napolean
Julius
Hannibal
Ghengis
Khmer guy
Alexander
Stalin
Hammarabi

Looking for suggestions on this

I considered adding an ICBM, but that is a one shot deal and would be rather boring.

French Taunter - you must taunt the English. The feud started when English dialed up the king, and his slave on the phone said: "Alphabet for Mathematics, you say? Well, I will ask him, but I don't think he will be very keen! He already has got one, you see?". The taunting is everything to annoy them. Ask the others to declare war on them. To stop trading with them. Mock them, raze their cities and plant yours on their ruins.

Spanish Inquisition - as Isabella, you must attack in that fashion so NOBODY will expect your attack. That means attacking through Galleons, etc.

This is Sparta! - as one of the Greek leaders, all your cities must build a barracks, followed by a unit. Units, units, units. Maybe a forge, a Heroic Epic, and if something goes really bad, then a building. But then, units, units, units. And you must make some patrolling units just to declare war at any leader who greets you with things like: "Feel free to begin showering me with tribute at your confidence!" - and then kick ass of their Scout/Warrior who met you and say loudly This is Sparta!

The Crusade - a game in which you play as one of the religious zealots and try to kill everyone practising the false faith and convert them by the sword, and raze all the holy cities of the religions other than Christianity/Islam/whatever religion you want to act. (I'd like to see a majority of Islam followers in a no Choose Religions game...)

What great ideas!

1) The taunting French. Yes, one of those annoying French leaders. Goal to is exterminate the english anyway possible to win. But only after you get teh entire world to hate them. Brilliant! Gotta be Louis, he's the king of the taunt.

2) Soso on this one.

3) Nice idea, but was looking at the following angle. Greek city states united. We can only get six (I actualy say three but some readers say I make things too hard on myself), and all have to be built via settlers. We must obtain a cultural win and we must war against our neighbors at the most opportune time. We are the mighty and arrogant Greeks, fathers of civilization! Either leader would work.

4) Yes, always on the back burner. I have played one peaceful zealot in Sal, another semi peaceful (more of a defender of the faith) in the upcoming Asoka game, but the classic crusade game has been missing I agree. No great rules, just kill anyone not of your faith. Isabella, Charlemange, or Justinian would fit the bill.

Great ideas.

The last one sounds interesting. I'd say as an added challenge, you must convert to the last religion founded (whether by you or someone else), and then you must spread the faith (via the sword). :)

Oh, and I'd rather see the Asoka RPC before you try the Shaka RPC again. But regardless of what you choose, thanks for these games! They're very enjoyable.

The OCC have I have not played yet so I would need alot of help there. I'll tell you what, after the next really well played RPC where I win (such as MOnty's or Will's) I'll fire up the Glory of Rome'

I have restarted Gentleman Shaka's game

The next RPCs will be

Asoka and the Doomsday Weapon

followed by

The Glory of Rome, a OCC with Agustus.

Any suggestions for rules of those 2 games are appreciated.

For the Asoka game, perhaps modify the rules so that the tank can enter any Buddhist cultural borders (meaning an ally) - this way in defending an AI with Buddhism the machine can be sent.

Don't abuse your modern armor... It will give you such an advantage in Power rating, that I suppose you could demand everything from the other civs and sue for peace that much easier...

It's very important that you get the National Wonders of National Park and Globe Theatre. They're very important I think. (you can have four National Wonders in a OCC I believe)

Also, I'd run a SE. I've tried both CE and SE OCC challenges and the SE did much better.

I'm not sure about rules for the game...hmmm. There's really only two ways to win a OCC. (well, three but one is pretty much impossible on the higher difficulty levels)

I'd try and keep the rules to a minimum, though.
