Main Download Information

The 1.63 patch is up. It fixes two more crashing bugs. You can install the patch over 1.61 or 1.62. The main install package will also be updated to 1.63 for late comers, so you won't need the patch.

1.62 is really only a SP patch, but you might want wait an hour or two for 1.63; I've fixed two more crashing bugs.

Excellent news, our multiplayer game now works! I went round to my friends house and installed the exact same patches etc and it works. To be fair, my mate is a complete noob when it comes to installing the patches and mods so it's not really a big surprise that it crashed last time despite him being adament he had installed it correctly?! Haha.

Thanks again Afforess, really excellent job!

New Patch, 1.64.

It fixes the bug where players could build wonders and buildings repeatedly. It is save compatible with 1.61-1.63

Note: You will not see the changes take place immediately, I recommend starting a new game to see the effects.

I can't tell if it's a good thing or bad thing we're already at v1.64... :/

Maybe start putting an extra digit or letter on the end? 1.641, 1.64a, etc. :mischief:

Anyway Afforess this is far the more stable of ALL the Civ MP game I have play so far. second day with NO OOS !!! and we are using 1.61.
I just wonder if we can "upgrade" to 1.65 or 1.66, direct from 1.61, and would our MP save still be working?

The only bug I have notice so far is the leader heads to change some time, at start of the game they fit with them leader but after some time they change:
Hatsheputs get the head of selassie

I don't know if this is ROM or AND bug, or even if it only occure in MP, it doesn't alter the gameplay either so I guess this is not a priority.

BUT AGAIN . . . YOU ROCKS !!!
MP game has never been that stable before.

You should be able to use the patch on the Main Post to go straight from 1.61 to 1.64.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. ;)

Questions for you... what settings do you play at for MP? Is the AI still competitive by say Theology (do they have a decent mfg good amount or are they stupidly far behind)? What size map do you play on with how many civs?

Notice:

Do Not Install Any Version Of A New Dawn on RoM 2.9 Beta! It will not work! It Will Crash!

Do you know if the fix will take place at all with an old game?

You should have used bigger print.;)

It's not a problem with the fix, it's a problem with the way the game processes buildings. Once you build a building, the stats are set in stone, even if you change the XML afterwards. So I can't go back in time and make the game recount it unless you start over.

Guess what :) no matter how sarcastic your remark is (made me laugh :)) there will be some people who will install AND over 2.9 beta and report crashes. Believe me :)

I get a CTD when I try to play AND on RoM 2.9 Beta?

;) now 200% more cool

Oh my, civ king, you used big text, but why didn't you use the Cruise Control for Cool (a.k.a. capslock)? ;)

The seting are:

4 Human
7 AI
Huge map
Planet gen 0,68
16 continent
Barbarian civ (not world, should maybe next time)
Revolution on
Advanced start (3750)
Ruthless AI
No brokering Tech

Revdcm:
Ranged Bombardment
Archer Bombardment
Stack Attack ..............I know it can give OOS but we tried it and no prob so far
Opportunity Fire

Air support are all on

the rest is standard.

We have now pass the christ (over 200 AD)

The AI is less agressive than I will thought, But we were well prepared.
All in all I am impress by the AI, The Revolution mod is amazing, to make it short the Best AI in the game, got a revolution that totaly Kills it's empire, where the new civ become even stronger than the first one. Some time later an other civ got massive Revolution loosing half of it's city in few turn, but manage to recover, get back his city, attack an other civ kill it and become the best AI in the game so far.

after christ we are 16, and 3 civ are dead.
When it come ti tech, I believe the AI could be better, but Never been that good compare to us (human).
I can't see any strange behaviour from the AI, they got good sized city, trade offen (with Human, between AI I don't realy know).
I don't know what you mean with mfg . . .

The Difficulty is set to the standar one, I don't know what happens if I change it, should every human change it, can we have different difficulty level and than how will that affect the AI and score???

We got our first OOS around 500 BC, than patch from 1,61 to 1.64, and all worked fin after that . . .
